Nice, this is one of the summer shows I was looking forward to. I'm amazed at how early it was announced. Weird to see Crunchyroll dropping the "Muv-Luv Alternative" when referring to it, though. I've just been calling it "Muv-Luv Alternative", and I figured the official sources would do the same.

That sure was quick. So CR is now starting to announce summer simulcasts, and the first title is something on my to-watch list. I pretty much was expecting Muv-Luv to be picked up by them. I'm very much looking forward to this show and the trailer there just made me even more interested in it. Let's see what else is coming.

I hadn't been paying any attention to this one but oh hey it's another genderswapped Japanese/Chinese history anime. I am therefore obligated to watch it, although it seems like heresy for one of these to have a male protagonist. Give me Koihime, Sengoku Otome, or Sengoku Collection instead... but still worth a try.

I prefer to think of it as it having become its own genre.
