Episode 2:
- Heh. Haru jumps out the window, and nobody even reacts. - Asako! She wants to be tutored by Shizuku. With any luck she won't fall in love with Haru - I'm not in the mood for a love triangle in this show. Also voiced by Tanezaki Atsumi, who has done nothing else before. Her voice sounds like a mix of things. It's quite cute. - Ahahahah, Asako is fantastic. You cute little vomiting narcissistic dunce you. - Haru heard the word "friends". Haru is so weak to that. - Haru is a terrible, terrible tutor. - Shizuku finally steps in to help, heh. Really sweet scene actually. Try as she might, she can't be completely coldhearted. - 32 is a passing score, what? - Haru ruins Asako's online life. - Oh good. Asako doesn't have a crush on Haru or anything - she's actively cheering on Haru and Shizuku. - Huh. Nice, Shizuku came to grips with her feelings - and admitted them to Haru - quite quickly. I see that as only being a good thing. Uh. Wait, what is Asako doing at the end there? ![]()

This series continues to be really good. The romance is progressing a lot faster than I'd expect. Now they just have to sort out their feelings for each other and figure out how they can work together, and they'll be gold. Some other issues on Haru's side are becoming prevalent, though, so that will certainly continue to provide some life problems to work through for the rest of the series. I look forward to more.

LOL, Sasahara's cat is afraid of the chicken. Reminds me of the wild chickens around my workplace; there are also a bunch of stray cats around, but none of them show any interest in having a chicken dinner. Those chickens must have shown the cats who's boss.
Anyways, another very funny, very enjoyable episode. The teacher might not be the best teacher out there, but her getting permission to build a chicken coop for Nagoya was amusing. Also amusing: Shizuku deciding that the easiest way to test Haru's former friends' sincerity of apology was also the easiest way to get out of doing the coop-building work herself. The painting on the coop reminded me of this. Looks like Haru is aware there are different kinds of love but doesn't know which his is, so he's afraid to get into a relationship. Also, looks like he doesn't get along with this Yuzan fellow... And Shizuku suddenly brings a guy home, much to her father's horror. |

Episode 3:
- Ahhh, bit of a misdirection last time. I'm not sure Haru is truly convinced Shizuku was lying, but that's how the show is going to progress at least for now. - The chicken needs a home, and this sets up our main group of four. Shizuku and Haru, Sasayan and Asako. - Yeah definitely looks like the second pair is being set up. And wow, Asako looks gorgeous when they meet up to buy the chicken coop materials. Love that hair. - Bwhahaha, chaos in the hardware store. Haru always leave destruction in his wake. - The four punks are back once again, and hey, they actually feel kinda bad for treating Haru like shit. - HAH, blondie puts his arm around Shizuku, and I'm expecting there to be some dumb misunderstanding and all that... ...but no, Haru just punches him in the face. ![]() - Oh man this show is hilarious. Everyone meshes together so nicely. - Shizuku gives confession another go. - ...And it's a wonderful scene. Wow. - Ahaha and then things get weird. Poor Shizuku. - AHAHHA poor, poor Shizuku's dad. - Uhhhhh, Haru has a twin brother? Er that part after the ED felt like it ended abruptly. Man between this and Sukinayo, we are totally spoiled on fantastic shoujo romance manga adaptations. It's especially weird to have two that are this good in one season, because I don't think I've truly enjoyed one since, uh... the first two thirds of Kimi ni Todoke season one? It's possible I forgot a more recent one but I don't think I did.

This series really makes a lot of progress with each episode. Haru manages to completely change everyone's opinion of him, then completely reverse that, without doing hardly anything intentional, then the gang goes fishing for summer vacation, meets Haru's big brother, and finally, Shizuku tells him to take her on a date. All really good stuff.
Their teacher reminds me of Yuri from Toradora! more and more every time she's on screen. Shizuku thinks of how to get Haru to fall in love with her and tells him to smile more, but this completely backfires on her as all the girls who steered clear of him end up swooning over him, only serving to make her jealous. However, this is short-lived as he stands up for poor Hanazawa girl (basically Anri, actually), and everyone is scared off by his violent side once again. Then he and Shizuku have a cute moment together, but they're interrupted. Dammit, Sasayan, learn to read the mood! You should quietly back off in this situation, and maybe watch from the side. The fishing scene was cute but much shorter than I expected. Nothing really happened. I was wondering if they'd keep us from really meeting Haru's brother for even longer, but they show him here, and he seems like a kind of alright guy despite being a little creepy. There's clearly more to him, though, and although Haru comically proves that it's unlikely his older brother is any weirder than him, talking about him shows a side of him that even Shizuku is shocked to see at this point. But after some watermelon-crushing at her place, she tells him to take her on a date. I love how these characters can be so forward with each other, despite consistently being so embarrassed with their respective feelings. And as a result, their relationship makes significant progress in every episode, and I always look forward to what happens next, especially with what they've set up this time.

Haru really has it easy, unlike Shizuku.
That girl is just way too serious for her age. Since he started smiling, he became instant target for girls. Guess Shizuku's comment kinda backfired for her. Haru, on the other hand, keeps making the same mistakes. Luckily, this time he has Shizuku to save him from himself! Their summer break one day thing was really fun ^^ The appearance of Haru's brother was interesting. Looks like Haru and his brother have a complicated relationship.

Episode 4:
- Cabbage? Volleyball? I mix them up all the time. - Ahahaa, Shizuku gives Haru some friendly advice about smiling, and he turns into a ladykiller. - Shizuku's advice worked, but maybe a little more than she'd like... - This is a bit funny because I was just watching Sukitte Ii na yo and thinking that the biggest thing distinguishing it and this is that Yamato in Sukinayo is popular with girls, while Haru was not. I have to wonder if Haru's new popularity will stick or not, and what that might do for the show. - Oh man, Asako is taken aback and blushes at Shizuku being so honest and it's adorable. - Continuing on comparing Sukinayo and this, because it's unavoidable: Asami vs Asako! Who is the better cute female friend won over by the female protagonist? Man, I dunno. That's a tough one. - Ooh, knew that girls sitting down holding a ball in the previous scene would show up again. Interested in her. Being HanaKana doesn't hurt! - "I hope Haru doesn't get into a fight and get a bad reputation!" ::Haru gets in a fight and gets a bad reputation minutes later:: - Saved by Shizuku, though. And then, mutual blushing! Maaaaan they have it bad for each other. I'm not sure what to make of Haru's hesitation about accepting Shizuku's feelings. He seems to be quite aware of how he feels, but must fear that he wouldn't be good for her. - Suddenly Asako in a bikini! Yaaaaaaaay! - No swimsuit for Shizuku. ;_; Not surprising though. - And then Haru's brother. The nicer he looks the more evil he is! - "The older brother is kinda weird." ::gets abducted:: "But the younger brother is weirder." XD I love that Shizuku gets to be the aggressive one, about the relationship at least. They're so delightful together.
