Priestess's.....Melody
When I read the thoughts from the pre-airing, I was spoiled on the fact that there was a delusional battle in episode 2 and that the people in attendance absolutely loved it. It has been a painful three week wait for this episode to air not only so I could see it, but so I could finally talk about it. Coming into this series, I had read many many many comments from the international fandom about "why won't KyoAni do action?" After reading the first novel, I felt those concerns could easily be answered in this series, especially with how different in tone it would be from Hyouka. This episode was what I was wanting from that aspect. At the same time, it's still Kyoto Animation. We have a nice ordinary beginning with Rikka's hilariously named watering device into ordinary school life with Nibutani. It's just taken to a hilarious extent with the Takanashi delusional battle. Toka is interesting. There's many ways that Ishihara/Hanada could take her and I don't know exactly what they're aiming to achieve with her around. I'm adopting a wait-and-see approach before judging her too harshly based on the ladle attacks. Overall, I was quite pleased with the episode. It built upon last week's introduction with more Nibutani and introducing Kumin Tsuyuri/Toka Takanashi. At the same time, we had a new plot introduced and summed up in the same episode giving a feel-good conclusion. Suffice to say, this is all anime-original material (outside of Isshiki's ranking idea) which pleases me. We're now through all the material the PV showed us in August and the CM last month (with the exception of one quick cut of Dekomori). I'm looking forward to more Chuunibyou tomorrow/next week.

That was just a fun episode. Rikka holding onto Yuuta (book bag, sleeve, coat) is a move I always find cute. So we get to meet Toka and her Ladle of Darkness and she has a geas on Yuuta due to his past and the evidence on a recorder. We also got to see the Mauser that is in the OP of the Lite videos. Kumin found everything exciting and I think she's going to be an interesting addition and Nibutani really seems interested in Yuuta.

Well, that explains the odd cat outfit in the OP.
Yumeha saying "Dark Flame Master" was massively HNNNNNNNNG-inducing. Japanese girls chuu2-ing English is hilarious in general. "Welcome to the Dark Side". And that sure is one hell of a room, Rikka. We get to meet Kumin and, well, she was having waaaaaaaaay too much fun. Her getting whacked with the ladle from 300 feet was hilarious. And that fight. THAT FIGHT. Oh my god. Now if only KyoAni would do a show with some real fights like this. My one gripe was the friend and the class rank thing popping up. It's kind of worse here than usual because the male lead acknowledges its kind of a bad thing and that girls will get pissed about it, but his only concern seems to be getting caught. I'd love to see a show actually address the problems with this but I don't expect to see that happen anytime soon.

That battle was epic. Poor Kumin got taken down before she could even unmask her true power though. I don't know if I'll find Rikka or Dark Flame Master the most moe by the end of the show, but both of them had really moe-inducing moments.
Annoying friend does not exist. Maybe I'll just pretend he's Itsuki or Satoshi.

That was a really, really fun episode to watch. So many good moments.
-A lot more Nibutani which was awesome, especially the beginning in Yuuta's dream. She totally gives off that "class rep" vibe. -The comedy duo of Yuuta and Rikka (her chuunibyou is soo strong) continues to be extremely fun to watch. I love how he always does something to her head - whacking it or double noogies. -Hey look...we meet Kumin. I really like how she's getting into the whole chuuni world of Rikka. -Rikka's sister - pretty bad ass and cool at the same time. I really like her and love the use of the ladle as a weapon. -The lines that Toka recorded Yuuta saying as the Dark Flame Master - funny and I would love to hear Miyano Mamoru say those lines - its perfect for him. -That fight...OMG, that fight was utterly amazing. Just wow. Can't wait for next week's episode. This episode made a really strong case that I need to buy this show when it comes out on BD. I remember reading that the kanji used for Priestess are the characters for Holy Chef? Makes total sense now after watching this episode...haha.

I actually watched this raw back before the first episode and finally rewatched it with subs. Very cute, though nothing amazingly hilarious in this one. Rikka's "moves" when hitting the volleyball with Yuuta was fairly funny though.
And the promo ED is the best ED of the season.

I hope Tomo shows up in the main show at some point.
Rikka suddenly dropping the chuu2 when it became too inconvenient was pretty funny. And taking the bandage thing to the extreme and Tomo's reactions to it was cute. 1 per real episode, I assume.

Kuzuha! Yaaay!
And Yuuta in his Dark Flame Master glory days. Mika's reaction to Yuuta cracked me up. Poor Kuzuha.
