In combat, Hayate < Ruri < Nagi. A bit trippy at times, but some of the jokes were pretty good (like Maria slamming the door in Ruri's face).
This show is so lol, read the manga though...

Ayumu's introduction was the best part of this series yet. For the most part, the jokes kind of fall flat for me, like the martial arts manga commentator bit, and the way Nagi has that leer directed toward them as she points it out, then goes back to serious face for the fight felt really awkward to me. The whole thing about the self-professed imouto being some Russian martial arts master was kind of an amusing idea, but the way they played it straight, and took up so much of the episode with it, seemed like a questionable choice. Also, the character designs are pretty ugly. I don't know what the hell is wrong with that hair.
But when the humor hits? Oh yeah, it hits. The rare few seconds that I found something actually funny, rather than painfully unsuccessful, I laughed out loud. I don't like it as much as the previous two series yet, but it's not unbearably bad.

...I kinda like Ruri a lot.
Also yay Ayumu, but why is she living in a dorm on the Sanzenin grounds, along with Haru and someone I don't know? Also, Hina next time, right?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUUUUUUUUUUUUUMUUUUUUUUUUUUU!! !!!! And she gets a great first appearance, playing a guitar and singing Amazing Grace for no real reason.
Then it turns out Ruri is a pretty badass martial artist. And her suffering is adorable. I enjoyed that too much. She's the best character by a long shot. Overall though.... I'm enjoying myself, but its mostly just okay. Ruri, Nagi and Hayate are the only ones even being treated as characters. The rest just pop up and are like "Hey, remember me from the manga/previous anime? Of course you do." and then do a few gags. The show's bizarre continuity means it doesn't receive any benefits of character development from the previous anime, which is what the manga had to work with when it got more serious, not that its thus far tried to do anything at all with anyone other than Nagi, Hayate and Ruri. So, I wonder who the preview was referring to: Hinagiku or A-tan. I'm thinking Hinagiku, just because it seems insane to wait any longer to get her in the show. Also, high there Sharna and Fumi. I wonder if we'll ever see them again in the show. -_-;

Hinagiku almost gets the entire episode to herself, with an unfortunate interruption from Ruri. Of course the animation was really painful as it has been throughout this new series, but the content itself was really strong for the most part. I could really do without those pre- and post-show bits, though, as well as the CM Connecting Theaters. They can be amusing on occasion, but I'd rather have more time for the actual show. And of course they had to end it on that predictable comic relief note, but I wouldn't know what to think if they did it any other way. If anything, they managed to prolong that kind of material longer than I would've expected, so it made for a really nice episode with more solidity and focus than we've had in the first two episodes. As for comedy that I actually found really funny, the little kids in the movie theater all collectively analyzing the relatively "adult"-aged characters was pretty hilarious.

Well, this was quite an interesting episode. I like the route they took in this episode. I just recently rewatched the first two series, so it makes this even better. Ruri is certainly a really nice addition to the show. Let's see how this will continue.

I'm barely remembering what happened at this point, and I now only pay half-attention to the episodes when I watch them since the series has been such a disappointment so far. ^^; ;_;

I love all of the know it all arguments about video games, anime and manga........it reminds me of the know-it-alls in computers spouting stuff that is either irrelevant or out of date(including myself of course!). Yes, we all do the chuckle as well!
