This show is more than half over already. Shit, things are not looking good...

And...this was not good at all... I'm not even sure why I'm still watching it. Maybe, because I hope for something more decent and don't want this to be my last memory of Hayate no Gotoku!

After spending even episodes tiptoeing around the one story they're trying to tell, they finally decide to actually focus on it for one episode. And of course, in all of Las Vegas, a lost Hayate would immediately find the two other people he knows from Japan, who shouldn't even be there. So since they obviously wouldn't make that big a deal out of it if it wasn't important, how exactly will meeting up with his friends be something so unlucky for Hayate that the magic of the black camellia would have to stop their plane in Vegas, right where they want to be, and plop them right in front of Hayate, who probably would've gotten more lost and desperate if he hadn't found them. Is it just to make Nagi jealous and draw her away from him? Anyway, let's see if he gets that burst of super luck when he needs it.
More importantly, FUCKING HILARIOUS STEREOTYPICAL AMERICANS! That Engrish may have been the highlight of the episode for me. Actually, it was very minor in this episode, so I really hope we'll be getting a lot more of that.

Well, that was better. They finally are in Las Vegas. We had a really nice scene with Ayumu. Next time, can we have a really nice scene with Hinagiku as well?

Of course everyone who knows each other from one area of Japan ends up in the same place on the other side of the world independently of each other. And Hinagiku's sister makes off with the black camellia just in time for its good luck, to make some mad money at the slots, then lose it all to robbers due to the following bad luck. It sure seems like Hayate still manages to get the worst luck, though. Getting into these situations with all these girls could be interpreted as good for any reason other than Nagi's jealous reactions, but even when he's not in possession of it, he gets stabbed by it, while the guy actually holding it just gets a free sword when he should be receiving bad luck. And Tsugumi's back, along with her demon boss, who seems relatively invincible at this point. Things are definitely looking up.
AND WAY MORE ENGRISH!

Well obviously the sword wasn't going to kill Hayate, but I was expecting it to do something. But he's definitely acting differently, and uncharacteristically absent from the majority of the action, and of course from Nagi herself. He did show a little bit of his normal self, although a little more brutal than usual, in his Engrish information-extracting backed by chainsaw gorilla-san. Of course, this was mostly for comic relief, which provides a surprising contrast against his ruthless attack on Nagi's heart. Her breakdown was decent, and Ayumu's strong will that was necessary to keep the group composed despite her own inevitable misgivings about the situation made for a good counter to that.

- Everyone meets in Las Vegas.
- Nagi is kidnapped... - The problem? Hayate is dead...at least that won't probably be for long.
