Skipping ahead a week.

Christmas Eve! So New Years for the finale I guess.

- Uh oh. It's going to be another incredibly melancholy Natsume episode isn't it? Her stories always make me as sad as much as they makes me smile...
- Heh, and her tsuntsun kicks in right away.
- Awwwwww, I want to cheer her on sooooo damn badly but I just can't. ;_; Hidamari Sketch why do you do this to me? Can we just clone Sae?

- Ah nice, Yuno is hosting the party. And Miyako has a death wish.
- Embarrassed Yuno is adorable Yuno. But all Yunos are adorable Yunos.
- Natsume arrives! Her shyness makes my heart skip many beats. Oh I love her so.
- Oh man Nori and Nazuna cutting the cake together was totally practice for their wedding.
- And nice save, Natsume.
- Natsume has been infected with Hidamaritis! I'm sorry, Natsume. It's terminal. You can never have a negative outlook on life again afater experiencing Hidamari-sou.

No doubt, Hidamari confirmed for best show of Fall, hands down. Goddamnit this series. It makes me feel good in places I didn't know I had. Ume-tentei and Shaft have put together quite simply the most pleasant world this side of Neo Venezia.

I'm glad that the show didn't play Natsume completely for the humor. She really does love Sae and it was nice to see them have some quality time together. It's still sad though, since this season has made it clear that Sae is committed to staying with Hiro. Which is all the more reinforced by Sae saying in the first half that a lot of things happen in life and "Getting married isn't all there is to it." While sitting next to Hiro.

The first half was so hilarious! Yoshinoya-sensei is a riot. It's not often that I laugh out loud during Hidamari, since my usual reaction is more "Aww..." But this segment was so funny.

This episode was a great end to the latest incarnation of Hidamari (and I sincerely hope it continues for a looooong X^_____^X time), with lots of great moments for pretty much every character (except a sadly absent imouto...). Even Miya's boyfriend made an appearance!

Unfortunately... I've been watching SHAFT shows for a bit too long, and can tell that they were running late on this episode and didn't get all of the animation done. I can't wait for the disc-based version...

- All the ingredients are on the table for an amazing culture festival.

Okay I've put it off long enough. It's time to finally let this season end. ;_; On the bright side, I watch this just a few hours after sales data for Vol. 1 is released, and it did damn well (9k first week), well enough that even with expected dropoff, a fifth season should be very very likely. Hooray!

Final episode, and it's the new year!

- It's okay, Yuno's dad. Everyone wants a Yuno in their life. I understand where you're coming from. But Hidamari-sou is where she belongs.
- Akemashite muri desu kedo! Nazuna is revolutionizing new years greetings.
- Heh, Nazuna would do her stamp backwards.
- ...Miyako is amazing, as usual.
- Yamauchi likes skydiving! You should be able to discern this from the shape of his mikan.
- Hiro and Sae are off cramming for their finals/entrance exams. I'm still not ready to think about that. ;_; Season five, season five!
- Awwwwwwwwww, Nazuna gives voice to something they're all thinking, but know they shouldn't be. But still, how can anyone bear to part with Hiro and Sae?

- Miyako finds an excuse to get naked with her ladies. Good job, Miyako.
- Miya-chan and Nori showing off what they've got. And once again, proof that the simplest things can be a hundred times sexier than any steamed/blinded/novelty censored bullshit in an ecchi show.
- Speaking of showing oneself off... o_O

- Haha, operation 'act tense' was a failure.
