FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES
“TARI TARI”

HOUSTON, July 2, 2012 — Sometimes you lose your voice, and sometimes you find it with a little help from Sentai Filmworks’ latest acquisition, Tari Tari. Direction and series composition by Masakzu Hashimoto (Professor Layton & the Eternal Diva) and featuring character designs by Kanami Sekiguchi (Canaan) and music by Shiroh Hamaguchi (Ah! My Goddess, Girls und Panzer).

The last year of high school is always a time of both looking forward and looking back. Before of you lives the future, alternately bright and scary. Behind you lie memories, both happy and sad. And somehow, in the course of one year, you have to reconcile those two and decide where your life is going to go. For Wakana Sakai, who had started studying music, it’s time to face the tragedy that made her abandon that path. For Sawa Okita, it’s about her dreams of riding professionally. And for Konatsu Miyamoto, it’s about bringing her friends together through the magic of song. Can something as simple as the formation of a chorus club really help solve the hurts and pangs that come with growing up? Can music bring people together despite their differences? Join in the chorus, pick up the rhythm and find out as Wakana, Sawa, Konatsu and their friends discover the answers and learn how to grow up through the medium of song in TARI TARI!

Tari Tari will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow next year.

Really interest in this title, but there is a huge possibility I'll import it and I don't think I'll double dip if I do.

I watched the first episode via CR. It was pretty and kinda interesting, but I'll need a few more episodes before I can decide whether I'll stick with the streams, import, and/or buy a domestic release...

Has Sentai licensed everything I care about this season yet? I think they may have. Obviously there are a lot of factors we don't know about, but if they decide that Hanasaku Iroha would go nicely with this one, that would be quite nice. Then they'd have every P.A. Works series except the first one (which they very well could have, had they existed when it was licensed, and they could very well end up rescuing it when the time comes). Blu-ray, please! This show REALLY needs it.

No Blu-ray is disappointing.

DVD only for this show... A P.A. Works show DVD only... That is a bad idea Sentai.

As I wasn't that big a fan of Tari Tari, barebones sub-only DVD is a deal-breaker for me, especially when one of my favorite things about the series, as with most P.A. Works stuff, is how gorgeous the animation looks in HD. I couldn't bear to watch this again after having seen how nice it can all look, especially without a dub to give me some kind of different experience.

If we look back the shows for which P. A. Works did the Animation Production:

Angel Beats!
CANAAN
Hanasaku Iroha
Moribito

All of them have Blu-ray, but Tari Tari won't.

Moribito was I.G. P.A. Works just did production cooperation. True Tears was DVD-only, though. Since it wasn't solicited here, Another will fortunately probably get a Blu-ray.
