Default [JP] Seitokai Yakuindomo

http://www.starchild.co.jp/special/s.../release2.html

Show starts in July, 1st BD comes out in August.

Looks like the "release a DVD a month after the anime starts airing" is becoming a trend, but this time it will be on Blu-ray as well.

I was browsing CD Japan for the heck of it and noticed that they have all six volumes solicited. Now the actual interesting part is the date given for each volume.

For example Volume 1 comes out on August 4th 2010. Volume 2 comes out on August 25th 2010. Yes, two volumes in the same exact month. There's also two volumes in September and two volumes in October.

I'm quite sure this is nothing new for people that pay more attention to the R2 scene. However for me, the idea of a release schedule like this stands out a bit.

It also seems to be one of the cheaper blu-rays I've seen 4700 yen per volume for the first five and 6800 yen for the final volume.

That is pretty unusual. I'm not aware of another anime that did bi-weekly releases.

Wow. Biweekly release and low prices? Obviously that means nothing until I see the show and know if it's good, but if it is, that gives it a really, really high level of priority in the fight for my buying slots.

The only Summer show that is a definite or near definite buy for me is Strike Witches 2, so the rest of the playing field is wiiiide open for me. This one just got itself with a pretty good starting position.

I approve. A nice image of Shino and a reminder that this series is part of the divine genre that's awesome in four different ways.

Default Volume 2-5

Volume 2 is Aria

Volume 3 is Suzu

Volume 4 is Kotomi

Volume 5 is Mitsuba

In case, people forgot..... Volume 1 is Shino

So each girl comes with her background color and her own strip. Which is nice. In any case, I love the fact they went with Mitsuba and Kotomi. Both are wonderful and deserve a cover.

Now the fun part. Who to get for volume 6. Group image? Naruko? Ranko? Kaede? Someone else? Personally I'm conflicted between Ranko and Kaede for the last volume.

Yes, they decided to go with the male lead. Well, if it's any consolation, at least he's one of the better male leads.

Plus, this gives yet another reason why a second season must be created. New season means new volumes. Which means additional chances for a Kaede cover. Oh, and Ranko too.
