Yuka is love. I also like the shower curtain it comes with.

9,240 Yen for two episodes (LE) isn't unheard of for an anime based on visual novel. D.C.II.S.S., for example, had that price point. Sales tend to be low and the core market will be buying it regardless. Then, when you add in the YesAsia factor (the cost of "free" shipping and no discount)...

Its still way too much money for 11eyes.

Should I even ask what a good price for 11eyes would be. For me, it's kind of hard to decide. Since I don't normally purchase import series, it's not as easy for me to decide what's a bargain, what's normal, and what's expensive in the context of Japanese imports.

Well, I can say that the idea of paying 7,000+ yen (before discounts are factored in) for a series is already unsettling enough. Thus a price of over 9,000 yen (again before discounts) is beyond scary.

Based on the 11 episodes that I saw of the series, I'm not even sure if it would be worth R1 prices right now. The final episode is so going to make or break everything for me.

R2 pricing varies depending on the kind of anime and who publishes it. Anime based on visual novels tend to be very niche and have low sales. To make up for the high price, they're also often packed with physical extras that the eroge market likes (dakimakura covers, shower curtains, bed sheets, etc). Bottom line is pretty much no one, besides hardcore fans of the original game, will be buying 11Eyes. There are very few anime based on visual novels that sell well these days, which kind of make sense, given they've already animated most of the popular ones.

Really, it just comes down to how much an individual values a show. It's my favorite genre so I'm used to this kind of pricing.

When you add in the Amazon factor of extreme shipping prices, the HMCE factor of import duty, the Fedex factor of a ridiculous "admin" fee for sending you an invoice and Yesasia's prices seem quite fair.

Amazon's shipping is perfectly reasonable as long as you clump your orders together. I'm paying 500-600 yen per shipment. Amazon's Shipping to North America is cheaper than to the EU for whatever reason.

I'm aware that YesAsia can make sense for UKers to avoid customs, but that doesn't help those of us who live elsewhere. For those of us in the US, FedEx doesn't send the invoice when the codes are correct, which they have been as of late.

Really, it's a matter of perspective. If I wanted to buy 11Eyes, I could acquire it for around $78 total cost. So from my perspective $118 is rather expensive.

It also depends on what the cost of what you're ordering is. If it's only a disc or two, then yesasia might make sense, but once you're talking about boxsets and the like, the Amazon percentage discount starts to make a huge difference.
