“GIRLS UND PANZER”

HOUSTON, September 30, 2012 — You’re cordially invited to find out if size really does matter in Sentai Filmworks’ newest acquisition: Girls und Panzer. Directed by Tsutomu Mizushima (Another, Blood-C) with series composition by Reiko Yoshida (K-ON!, Kaleido Star), sound direction by Yoshikazu Iwanami (The World God Only Knows, Hakuoki) and music by Shiroh Hamaguchi (TARI TARI, One Piece).

You may have heard of kung fu, but the girls at Oarai High School practice gun-fu - really, really BIG 75mm gun-fu, in fact. It’s called Sensha-do, and it’s the martial art of operating armored tanks! They take it seriously too, and since winning the national Sensha-do championship is such a huge deal at Oarai, they sometimes go to extreme ends in order to get the best students from Panzer class to sign up. Which is how Miho Nishizumi, who HATES operating tanks, gets drafted to join doomsday-driven driver Mako, even-triggered gunner Hana, highly receptive radio operator Saori and combustible tank-fangirl and loader Yukari as the incomparable Anko Team. They may not be on the half-track to fame and fortune, and maybe a few of them would rather shop for tank tops than become tops in tanks, but once their focus is locked and loaded, they’re absolutely driven. It’s mad, it’s metal and mayhem is guaranteed! So marching band and drill teams take cover, ‘cause the parade ground’s about to be rock and rolled under in the extra-curricular, armored vehicular spectacular that delivers in every particular: GIRLS UND PANZER!

Girls und Panzer will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow in 2013.

Girls & Panzer's Last Episode Slated for January 9 by AT-X

The online programming schedule of the premium anime television channel AT-X lists the 12th and final episodes of the Girls und Panzer anime series on January 9 at 9:00 p.m.

The anime's staff had announced last month that episode 6 was delayed "due to various circumstances." As a result, the final episode will be delayed beyond the scheduled run of the anime. According to the staff, the website, Twitter account, and a notice that would run during episode 11 would report the date and time of the final episode's airing.

At least we won't have to wait very long for the final episode of this to come out. That's welcoming, considering that a certain other show had a delay of a month and a half, and it has been out for three weeks now and it's still not legally available in the states yet.

Girls & Panzer Delays Episode #11 Tentatively Until March

The official Twitter account and website for the Girls und Panzer television anime confirmed on Saturday that the episode on December 24 has been delayed. Instead of episode 11, a special reintroduction episode "10.5" ("Shōkai Shimasu 2!") will air. Episode 10.5 will also be included in volume 5 of the Girls und Panzer Blu-ray and DVD release.

As a result of this delay, another episode will be delayed beyond the scheduled run of the anime this year. The staff tentatively plans to air the remaining episodes on participating channels in March as a television special. The 12th and final episode was already pushed back due to the delayed airing of episode 6.

Director Tsutomu Mizushima personally apologized for the delays, and noted that episode 10, like the previous episodes, will have improvements and animation corrections in the Blu-ray/DVD releases. He added that staff will ensure the utmost quality in episodes 11 and 12. He concluded by saying that he personally thinks that the end of episode 12 is not the end of the whole story.
