Hey I just realized I think this is Viz's first TV series on blu-ray. They finally put some movies on blu ray recently, but not TV series yet... I wonder if they will start with Naruto and bleach soon...

Yeah, it is there first, they finally go to bluray.

I think the main reason they don't go bluray is because the series they currently release are long, naruto and bleach and having blurays for 11 episodes would be pricey

You may be right, since Viz seems to have some aversion to disks with more than 5 episodes, but they might start using fewer disks for blu ray... in fact, if they really learn to encode, they could even put 11 episodes on one disk and have it still look decent, although I'm not too eager for them to try... 11 episode singles lol.
