So, the swimming thing is an anime. This of course does not justify all of the people who were SO SURE it would be based on nothing more than a commercial, seeing as how there are half a dozen others that are not anime, so don't get overly excited at the next commercial!

Will watch, even if it's looking totally devoid of girls.

Will pass unless I hear great reviews. Tamako Market was mediocre at best. Not even worth a complete watch. But I am generally supportive of them wanting to do more original material.

I'm disappointed at the sniping happening on other forums and twitter, tumblr etc between the groups. Making an anime series is a craft that Kyoto Animation has proven they can do. I will watch this series and keep an open mind. Kyoto Animation is in the business of making money through anime; it doesn't matter which fandom it comes from.

I don't think I'm the target demographic for this show and I doubt I'll watch it. I don't mind KyoAni branching out, though. (As long as they keep making the stuff I like too!)

So KyoAni ended up doing a full series of this after all. I'm interested to watch it and see how they do with it. It will definitely be pretty different from any series they've done before, but hopefully their usual quality can carry over even though it looks to be less of my kind of show than most of their works.

I can stand bishonens (to a certain extent), I can stand sport shows, I can't stand both in the same anime.
