VIZ MEDIA EUROPE is pleased to announce the acquisition of the TV, V.O.D, Home Entertainment and merchandising rights for the “MAGI, The Labyrinth of Magic” license for Europe.

Magi, the Labyrinth of Magic is based on a manga, published in Japan by Shogakukan, created by Shinobu Ohtaka, author of the delirious Sumomomo Momomo manga. Magi, the Labyrinth of Magic is an animated TV series targeting young teenagers. The story revolves around 1001 Arabian Nights Tales, following the adventures of Aladdin and Ali Baba towards fortune and glory!

An epic adventure story filled with humour, suspense and magic, the “MAGI” manga is already a success in France and Italy and will be published soon in other countries.

Set in a mythical world of filled with magic and flying carpets, MAGI follows the story of a young boy named Aladdin as he travels to a mysterious continent that is home to a cryptic ruin known as the “Dungeon”, in which great treasure is said to lay hidden Aladdin will go on a quest to clear the “Dungeon” in order to claim the treasures within. As his quest brings new encounters and farewells, Aladdin will come to learn of his true destiny.

MAGI, The Labyrinth of Magic just started its broadcast in Japan on MBS the 7th October 2012!

Synopsis

A young boy, Aladdin, travels to a far-≠away continent that is home to a mysterious ruin known as the “Dungeon”, in wich great treasure is said to lay hidden. During his travels, the young boy meets Alibaba, and together they attempt to clear the “Dungeon” in order to claim the treasures within. As their quest brings about new encounters and farewells, Aladdin will come to learn of his true destiny.

Series to be released on DVD and Blu-ray in Germany (via Kazé). Target time: autumn 2013.
