OMG THAT WAS AMAZING

And yes, they can, in fact, make Docking as gay as I was hoping for. Well, everything except an actual lip-on-lip kiss, which I dare not even dream of in any show that isn't blatantly gay from before it even airs (like Strawberry Panic). But I'm kind of hoping they might actually do a lip-on-lip kiss in the final episode to unlock their Ultimate Form, and this show might just be gay enough that the odds of that aren't absolute zero.

And it turns out Rei is a badguy (for now, obviously she's going to join Akane and Aoi at some point).

Also, LOL Naked Rang and Naked Impact.

Now for episode 2 of LET'S DOCKINGU!

Episode 2:

- AOI HENSHIN GOOOOOOOOOO! Did not realize how stacked she was, wow.
- Momo. ;_;
- ...Operation what now? o_O
- Oh. Well at least the "rang" part makes sense!
- Aoi just got hit by a plane. She was too busy squeeing over Akane to notice.
- But no big deal! Hahahah Aoi is awesome.
- Naked again. Aoi looks soooooo happy to get a huge hammer.

- Bwhahaha they're flying in formation with fighter jets. This show is ridiculous.
- The Alone even have the same single energy core weakness. I was shocked it didn't burst into sparklies. They ARE neuroi, it's not even debatable.

-Okay what's all the fuss about with this episode of Vivi Dreadlocks.
-Oh Docking is less dirty than implied. That's good. It's just item copying.
-I like the pretty magical gear based henshin (shades of G Gundam plus GEAR Fighter Dendoh). I can get past the little girl ass shots (almost). But the outfits are kinda blah. TRONified marching band outfits.
-Naked-rang? Akane is Getter Dragon. TOMAHAWK BOOOOOOMERANG!
-More naked weapons. Sorry about the flattop navy dudes.
-"What does that look like to you?" "L-little girls, sir." This is actually happening. This is not a drill. Little girls are kicking ass.
-KISS DOCKINGU!?!?! Akane is ready for it... Akane is magical & stuff.

-Through the window and in the box! Akane must be constantly hounded at school to join the baseball team.

Okay so Akane & Aoi are Enryu & Hyoryu, does that mean that badass ass pilot lady is Guy Shishio? Also OMG that was awesome! The twitter hype I was seeing all week wasn't lying. Still too many close ups of the asses of really underage girls for my taste, but the rest is funtastic.

All I can say about this show is that it's not that it lacks subtlety, but that it took subtlety and then smashed it to pieces with a giant magitech-powered transforming hammer.

To me, though, that's the charm of this series.

- Docking. How are you supposed to do that?
- Aoi also gets a key, and her powers are a grand slam.
- The Alone has been stopped in its tracks by exploding the core.
- To dock, two Vivids must yuriize. That attempt failed.
- Rei shoots an arrow to revive the Alone, more powerful than ever before.
- Thoughts have synced, and now the two combine to form one unstoppable superhero.
- Meanwhile, the school has been obliterated and the girls are being transferred.

That is such an amazing episode here, and while it could have been something that could have gone horribly wrong, it stayed on track all the way. The action is great, and it sets the stage for some interesting stuff in the coming episodes. Next up, the kendo girl Wakaba is introduced.

Wakaba joins the team! And Wakaba x Momo is clearly a thing. I certainly support it!

The sword fight on the beach was pretty impressive. Akane is a real badass, even when not transformed.

That Vividgreen transformation was as great as I'd hoped. Wakaba behind Akane at the beginning of it was particularly nice. And then Vividgreen was absurdly badass. That seems pretty ridiculously powerful to get at EPISODE 3, though it does have the obvious drawback of having a charge time. Range could be an issue at some point too.

And, uh, I didn't realize Wakaba and Rei were two different people. That certainly changes my expectations for when Rei joins! I hope to see Dockingu with her in episode 11 or 12.

So, does Wakaba now know all about Aoi, too? Akane got to see her memories during the Vividblue merger, and now Wakaba gets to see what's inside Akane's head. The docking worked, but did Wakaba know just how much sharing docking entailed? ^^

Vividblue's hammer had a charge-up period (percentages up to 200% were also called out by Aoi), but it seemed to be a shorter time.

Unfortunately, after the prior two-episode story, what we saw in ep. 3 just felt too rushed. The fight was over almost before it started. I wasn't expecting to see Rei that soon.

While it felt rushed, I still reeeeeeeeeeaaaaalllly enjoyed the episode. Akane's commute to school, the chase through the school, and the kendo match on the beach were all so much fun to watch. ^_^
