(Why do they have to make me wait three issues for one more chapter!? )

Probably they want each of their most popular series to appear in #18, since the Hty/Lala/Melody festa is right afterwards.

Default Re: New manga series and some long-running manga series ending (spoiler free)

Natsume Maya's page is reporting that Midori no Hibi will be ending July 21.
And it seems we'll also be getting a new Kindaicih mystery August 4. It's been a while since the last one, hasn't it? And it's the same author of Tantei Gakuen Q, right? I'm guessing he's doing those in parallel.

There's a new story by Yoko Kamio (Hana Yori Dango aka Boys Over Flowers) in the latest issue of Betsuma. I think it's called "Cat Street", or something like that (seeing as I can't read Japanese, this is my best guess after viewing this at s-manga.net.) I was hoping somebody else had seen this and could tell what it's about and whether it'll be running for awhile or if it's a one-shot deal.

New series, yes. Those giant kanji on the cover say Rensai Kaishi, which means Series start.

Default Team Medical Dragon

Since Akira Nagai passed away on 7th July 2004 (due to liver cancer) I doubt Team Medical Dragon by him and Tarô Nogizaka (illustrations) which is still running in Shôgakukan´s Big Comic Superior will or can go on like that.
Shôgakukan didn´t announce anything about it yet though.

Depends on how large his role was, really.
A lot of the "gensaku" credits don't actually mean "writer" as such. Zebraman, for example, credits Kudo Kankuro as "Gensaku" but that just means he wrote the movie. Yamada Reiji is doing the manga entirely by himself.
Other Gensaku credits mean the writer is in the studio every day discussing panel layout with the artist. It's a very vague credit.
So the artist may elect to continue the series on his own, especially since it appears to be doing well.

Yeah true. Maybe Nagai was "just" the medical adivsor as he was on other anime related projects (Black Jack movie). Anyway, the upcoming Big Comic Superior No. 16 (on sale on 07/23) contains a new chapter according to the Official site.
Hopefully it will continue...I just ordered the first 2 Tankôbon of this series.

Btw. Andrew, do you by any chance read Young Magazine? If so, how many chapters of BIOMEGA have been released (back when it got announced it was said that Tsutomu will release a new chapter each week)? And is it as good as the fans say?

I actually picked it up and leafed through this week, but there wasn't an issue in.
So I've seen officially none of it. There's nothing about it on their website either, but then again, Kodansha's website leaves a lot to be desired. I can't believe they don't even have a homepage for Morning.
