Default AoD Review: Patlabor TV Vol. #10

Review

[ QUOTE ]
In Summary:
Patlabor continues to be great fun for the many reasons supplied in past reviews of the series and it stands true here. It's unfortunate that things seem to be so against the series with its delays since that makes it harder for the casual fan to even want to try it. An eight month delay on top of the previous delays in the series only makes it worse, but in the end the casual fan will make out better since there will be cheap box sets that will appeal to them more. Hopefully they'll enjoy this volume as much as I did since it was a bit of good clean fun all around.

Only 1 more TV volume to go. I'll get the box to complete the series cheaper.

Looking forward to New Files OVA series as well.

They've got around to releasing this again? And they're up to volume 10 already? Boy, it really slipped under my nose...

I dunno. At this rate I'll be shocked if we see 11 this year. I want all of Patlabor on DVD as much as anyone but I'm despairing of it ever happening.

Oh, and of course I'll be picking up #10 this week. Joy!

I'm so looking forward to this whenever TRSI gets around to shipping my copy...

Well I just got the shipping notice for my copy from TRSI so I'm pumped.

Now I'm waiting for the volume 11 announcement.

I got mine today too, so I'm psyched. Looking even past volume 11, I'm more eager to hear when CPM will get to the last series of OVA's. June was mentioned at one time, but with the June release dates beginning to creep out, and no sign of volume 11 yet, I'm wondering how far back CPM will push their release date...

This volume is good because we get Noa (and Takeo) in a bathing suit (two-piece at that) for the first (only?) time.

...

Oh, and these stand-alone stories were very entertaining as usual. Episodes dealing with Shinohara Industries and the Labor upgrade question are always good and ripe for solid character development.

Okay, one more to go, CPM. Then the New Files, finally. Which I hope will be done by this time next year...at the longest.

I'm hoping that Patlabor will be finished off this year. New Files #1 has (or had if CPM's changed things) a release date of June 14.

I love this series (it's still my favorite anime series), but I am waiting for the 3rd TV box from CPM before I finish off the series...

If I need to see the episodes before then, I can just watch one of the two sets of Patlabor LDs that I've got (original releases, then the later boxes; I never did get around to any of the R2 DVDs). ^_^;
