I know it's an older series, but I just got around to starting it this morning.
I watched all of the disc labeled "Resurrection", but I noticed it said "Transfiguration" on the menu screen. When I popped the disc labeled "Transfiguration" into the machine, I noticed both menu screens and episode content was identical. According to ANN, the episode that I started with ("The New Generation") was actually episode #5, which would explain why I had no idea what was going on! So, it looks like I have a mis-labeled disc 1. Being an older series from a now defunct studio (ADV), do I just have to try and track down another copy of the release and take my chances on it being the correct pressing? |

Well, even with the real first disc, you still might not have any idea of what's going on...
But yeah, back when the series was first released, some of the Volume #1 discs (Resurrection) actually contained the episodes for Volume #2 (Transfiguration). ADV replaced my borked one, but obviously that's not going to work for you. So, you could try tracking down another copy. Maybe this will help: the Volume #1 that was sent back to me has DGR/001 on the spine, and within the fine print around the bottom of the disc is DGR/001 Revised. The other option would be to find a copy of the Getter Robo collection that ADV released. You can check-out Amazon to see what it looks like: Linku.

Well, this revelation prompted me to check my discs, and my Volume 1 has the "Revised" message on it... Thanks for the heads-up.

So the revised notation is on the disc itself and not the spine of the case? That would make it more difficult to track down...
Is the Power Pack a brick collection or just the singles shrinkwrapped together? |

The Power Pack is a brick collection.

Cool. Maybe I'll just go that route instead.

Awesome, and glad I was able to help.
It's a good series, a bit rough in the middle, but definitely worth owning for anyone into mecha/robot anime.

Yeah. It's a shame that this series never got a recent re-release. I mean I'm glad Mazinkaiser and Shuten Doji got re-released now, but Armageddon really deserves one as well.
