[ QUOTE ]
I did notice one grammar error on page 187.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'm just curious...did you mean a different page? Page 187 does have bad grammar on it, but it's certainly not an error, just hoodlum-speak...

[ QUOTE ]

Class dismissed!

That girl had the money. She was the real thief!

Huh?

You want we should carry your books for you? Huh, boss?

Get outta my way!

So humble! Carrying his own books...

[/ QUOTE ]

If there was a mistake on another page, if we hear about it, it can hopefully get fixed in a reprint.

It was the "You want we should carry your books for you" line, which I didn't know if it was intentional or not. It just felt a tad awkward to me.

Ah. Yeah, that's not an error...gangster-types have been speaking like that in fiction for decades, especially when there's a parody element. For example, Guido and Nunzio in Robert Asprin's Myth books talk like that all the time.

A google search for "You want I should" brings up more than enough hits to show that it's common for-effect usage.

Linguistically it would be a form of subjunctive, and if mafia goons ever really talked this way, it would be because of Italian literalisms in English--Italian, like Spanish, has subjunctive tenses that are used in constructions like this.

Thanks for the explanation. I will send some text to Chris to replace that line as I don't want the review to state something that is not a grammar error.

I would have to say after reading this review I was interested in picking up this title but then I got to the book store today and flipped through it. I was apalled by the art in this book. It completely turned me off from wanting to read it and I read alot.

I preordered this book from my comic shop based on the description in Previews and the cover art and I have to say I was disappointed. The art inside is nothing like the cover. Seung-Ah is prettily drawn and Gun looks cute when he isn't fighting or freaking out, which is rare, but for the most part I didn't care for the art. The story had too many nosebleed moments and too many fights for my taste. Some of the bits dealing with character relationships I liked, but not enough to sit through the stuff I didn't. I won't be purchasing the second volume. It's just not my cup of tea.

It's very old-school art...it kind of reminded me of early...uh...City Hunter, Maison Ikkoku, Rokudenashi Blues... Those are all sophisticated in their own way; this series may develop into something interesting as well. We'll see...
