Default Question on the new Eva thin pack collection

I decided to hold back when Eva first came out, to pick up the renewal versions, when they came state side. I noticed that ADV is releasing a thin pack of the series. I know ADV's recent thin packs have had lower disk counts, and they've taken out the extras.

Is this the same with this set?

ModEdit: Fixed the typo in the subject. It was driving me nuts.

thanks Fence, I normally don't keep up on these things, and was looking for a "gateway" into Eva. Might just grab the singles then.

You should consider waiting for the next DDD 20% off sale and get the series. The thinpack release is all well and good, but the singles came with high quality booklets with LOTS of great stuff in them.

Yeh, I was reading the extras at Digital Eyes. Although I might just pick up the box set, since im not a terribly huge Evangelion fan, but want it in my collection.

The real question (still unanswered at this point, to my knowledge) is for those episodes with director's cut versions, will both versions still be included, or is one or the other to be excluded under the heading of "extras"? And if one version is excluded, which one?

I'm waiting for definite confirmation that the DC versions of the eps are included in the set before placing my pre-order.

Just to ask, are these the remastered Platinum discs or the regular releases (that came out with the old box set a couple of years ago). I have the old box (the black and red one with the original DVD's) and I'm wondering if it's worth it to upgrade.

The forthcoming new thinpak is the Platinum version.

Hence the inclusion of the word PLATINUM in the name of the collection...

Of course, what I am wondering about all of these thin packs is... since ADV is cramming more episodes per disc with the thin packs and re-authoring the discs as well; is this process introducing any video quality issues at all? I haven't heard anyone say anything about this overall, but I would be interested to know though.
