Default Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig SE Vol. 2 - Any Packaging Problems?

In the wake of the packaging problems with SAC 2nd Gig Vol. 1 SE, I'm wondering if Bandai / Manga have done anything to avoid this problem for Vol. 2 SE.

Has anybody received this release yet? Were the discs floating or overly difficult to release from the case?

Basically, I am asking because I want to know whether I should wait to find a non-floater at my local shop, or if I have a good chance of getting a good one online.

I just received my copy today and they have addressed the issue. The DVD case is the same but a small foam disc was placed on top of the spindle. The foam disc gets squeezed between the spindle and the side of the case when it's closed and locks the DVDs in place. Obviously, the piece of foam doesn't look good through the window of the case so this time there was no cut out on the cardboard box.

Edit: A picture is worth a thousand words

I'm glad that Manga or Bandai (which ever one is in charge of the packaging) took steps to address the issues with the DVD coming off the hub. However I am concerned that now we won't be able to tell that we got a floater until after we open it, thanks to the new box design. Before I was thinking that as long as I check the DVDs in a B&M store I should be okay. From what you say it sounds like things will work out, so here's hoping those foam discs are very effective.

BTW has anyone found that the first DVD still comes loose after you open it? Or does that only happen during the shipping processes?

I just went for the normal Vol 2 this time. A deck of playing cards and a mouse pad didn't interest me to much. Although it's going to be weird having Tin, Case, Tin. I'm going to pick up vol 3 LE mainly due to the tachikoma and motoko figures.

Mine is being delivered today. I'm glad that they're still trying to keep the initial design of the tin but are putting foam protectors inside the case. I'm guessing you can remove the little foam disc if you wish, right?

Yup, I got my copy yesterday. And the bloody foam disk didn't do a single thing to stop the disks from becoming floaters. All the foam did was keep the disks from shaking around in the case, so they didn't get too badly scratched. I watched the regular disk last night without any problems and will watch the DTS one later to be certain nothing happened to that as well. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to contact TRSI- I'm glad my copy came from them since they're much easier to deal with for returns.

The foams not glued in, so it can be easily removed. No worries there.
