Default your best and worst anime of all of 2005.

It's almost year-end. Lots of '04 series ended, '05 series started and ended, and '05 series still going.

Looking back at year-2005, what is/are the best anime that you'd watched? It can be R1 or R2 or whatever, finished and/or still going.

Mine are as follows:

best harem = tie between Ichigo 100% and Shuffle TV

best shoujo = Honey and Clover

best action = Ghost in the Shell-SAC: 2nd Gig

best comedy = School Rumble

best ecchi loli-series = UG Ultimate Girl

best newly started series = I''s Pure

best Region-1 release that's completed = Jubei Chan 2

worst anime of 2005 = Da Capo Second Season

and finally...

best anime of all of 2005 to me = Air-TV and Air Movie

I was gonna ask for the single best character of 2005, but I decided not to. It's alot more tougher to decide who the single best anime-character of 2005 is. I have Misuzu (Air), Shinobu (Honey&Clover), Nishino/Toujou/Satsuki (ichigo 100%), Eri/Yakumo (School Rumble), and Tama-nee (ToHeart-2) all up there in my list. And my favorite, Hazuki (Moon Phase) still has one more dvd-only ep that'll out in 2006, so she's disqualified. *sigh*

So, what're your's?

Here's to looking forward to 2006's anime!!!

Best show released this year in R1: Gunslinger Girl, by a country mile. I've probably blotted the worst from memory out of self-preservation.

Happy 7 the TV Manga
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha As
Akahori Love Hour Ge (Love Pheromone and Gedou Otome Tai)
Rozen Maiden Traumend
My~Otome
My~HiME
Mahoraba Heartful Days
Shakugan no Shana
Shuffle
Tsukiyomi Moon Phase
Ichigo Mashimaro

Favorite R1 Anime (In other words what I've collected or am collecting)
Shrine of the Morning Mist
Bottle Fairy
Scrapped Princess

Heh that's all for now. I probably should double check and see what series I love count as being aired in 2005 or well being released in 2005. Plus I think I need a refresher course on some anime from 2005. As for favorite characters and least favorite stuff maybe in an edit or later post. Although I'm more likely to do favorite characters than least favorite stuff.

Edit: I hate it when you people remind me of series I forgot.

Default Re: your best and worst anime of all of 2005.

1 - Best anime to hit DVD in 2005 - Scrapped Princess (duh). The runner-up is Stellvia.

2 - Best anime to air in 2005 - I don't know. There were many great shows but no single show *that started in 2005* rose above them all to be THE best.

It's a problem when shows span 2004-2005 almost perfectly, like My~HiME which ran six months, split evenly between the two years. School Rumble has the same problem, as does Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase and Bleach, except that isn't stopping any time soon so most of its episodes so far aired in 2005. Gankutsuou also made the split, although I fell away from it before the last couple episodes from being very busy and then it getting licensed. I am very eager to see it through this time as I collect the DVDs.

So, the best show to see at least half its episodes air in 2005 is My~HiME. But the best show to begin in 2005... is... well:

- When all is said and done it could be My~Otome, given its strong start and the success of HiME, but I've seen less than half of it at this point, and can not give it the prize.
- Zettai Shounen is in the running, but I have to get around to the last four episodes before I can say. It certainly has a wonderful atmosphere about it, although the second half hasn't pulled me like the first half, else I would have gobbled up the last few episodes ASAP. Still an 'A' grade show though easily.
- Honey and Clover wins for best shoujo or romance, although Futakoi Alternative takes best single relationship (or in its case, threesome).
- AIR was also one of the strongest shows overall, although not for any specific category, just as a whole. I supose it stands next to Zettai Shounen in building up a great world by sheer weight of the atmosphere around it. The 994AD arc and its Air in Summer extension also has me begging for more.
- Mahoraba was perhaps the best comedy and easily the best "feel-good" show.
- Bleach deserves a mention as stated above, especially since it began right when HiME, Gankutsuou, SR and TMP did (...uh, wow, might we say that was one of the best single seasons for anime ever?)

So.. I can't pick one that *started* in 2005
