Could be a dirty lens and a lens cleanING will fix it right up. BUT, I owned a Sony 360 model which did the same thing a few weeks after the warranty expired. Turns out my unit wasn't the only one by a long shot. Disposible. I really don't think much of the build quality of Sony DVD players and neither does Sony considering the 90 day full warranty period.
[Edit: No lens cleanER - check]

*sigh* (about time I made this into a faq question) Lens cleaners do not "fix" things, but instead have a tendency to actually damage the lens, and best case scenario it just moves the dirt around inside the player. If you want to clean it, open it up and use a can of compressed air instead. Never ever use so called lens cleaners - or recommend their use >_>.

Skywise said: use a can of compressed air instead. [/ QUOTE ] Compressed air-it's the new "duck tape" Especially since you can buy like 3 packs and what not at every electronics store nowadays. If it looks like I'm trying to say Skywise is wrong, I'm not. I just think it's funny all the uses that compressed air has nowadays. Thanks for your help guys, I opened the dvd player up and after fiddling around with it, I managed to get it to play VCDs now, but still no luck with DVDs. I think I might just throw it out and buy a cheap DVD player.
Thanks |
