Poll: You're Under Arrest (Season 2)

At the encouragement of some of the members of AnimEigo's mailing list, who have been petitioning and pleading with the evil entities behind said corporation, I am interested in gathering some opinions and information about who would be interested in seeing the second season of this AMAZING show come to R1?

Particularly, for fans of the English dub cast, if the same cast could be re-assembled for the second season, if it were licensed by AnimEigo.

With that said, how many people would be in support of bring YUA: TV 2 (and the subsequent OVA You're Under Arrest: No Mercy) to R1? From the little bit I've read here, there are a lot of fans of YUA on AoD, and one of the great things about AnimEigo is that they listen directly to their supporters. With Urusei Yatsura ending very soon, and nothing but the OMG re-released slated for them in 2006, AnimEigo has mentioned in their mailing lists they are looking for another title to bring across, but concerns of rising licensing costs and questionable sales figures are holding them back somewhat.

This may be our best chance to influence them in bringing YUA2 over here. Please show your support, and with enough information, I'll submit this info through the mailing list directly to AnimEigo. Hopefully, they will listen to the crazed fans here at AoD. Thanks!

Yes, I'll buy it if it released on R1 DVDs. However, if Animeigo is releasing it, I won't be pre-ordering as they cannot sell it direct to me.

Absolutely and Yes. I've had season 2 and the OVA on R2 since they were released in Japan and I'd buy them agin in a heartbeat if they got an R1 release. Even if Miyuki's eyes are purple. Reuniting the dub cast would be great but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if they couldn't do it. Here's hoping Robert Woodhead and Animeigo have at least one more big anime project in them before the live action stuff takes over completely. [img]/images/graemlins/sdsmiley.gif[/img]

You know I never ask for much for myself, content as I am to let YOUR divine mystery play out in all it's cosmic and ultimately unknowable wackiness, but a Region 1 release of You're Under Arrest: Season 2 would make me feel that much closer to You. Plus it would be FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!

I'd love to see YUA2 licensed, but there were some things in their translation of the first series that annoyed me. I've noticed that on their subtitle-only titles, the translations don't bother me (still wish they'd use all the honorifics, but...) but on the ones with dubs, it is like the subtitles are treated a bit differently and even get a bit of domestication.

Anyway, I highly doubt that AnimEigo even has the money to license the title. ADV scored the last couple of YUA titles (the movie and the mini-episodes of the You're Under Arrest Specials series since AnimEigo scored that series only full-length episode) and even they haven't moved to do anything.
