That's it I'm gonna end this NOW
If the DVP520 and the DVP642 have the same firmware all you have to do is go into the video settings on the system menu there should be an option there called angle mark with two options on and off. I don't think you don't have to be a rocket scientist to find out what option turns off the mark permantly. |

But it doesn't matter to me since I'll be replacing it with an Oppo. The DVP642 has too many irksome issues and is such a mediocre DVD player. My old Toshiba SD-1800 was much better than the DVP642.
