Ar Tonelico OVA

hmm...anybody getting this? i'm very intersted in it and not sure if it'll be footage from the game (doesn't really look like it). anyways, the official game site has a 2:30 trailer for the march 22 ova. it looks and sounds awesome (the music was expected to be awesome though). for those who have trouble finding it: it's under special > ova > red button in the corner.

Yikes that a large file (33.4MB) to be hosted off an official website!

The animation looks like a watered down version of the Tales of Phantasia OVA but I really liked the music. For anyone else interested the catalog # is COBC-4500 and retails for 4800 yen.

It's a proper OVA - Gust has been doing some kind of all-out media blitz with Ar Tonelico, what with the manga running in Comic Blade, drama CDs and this OVA.

Seems slightly odd given that the game is reputedly not all that great, but maybe the story/world is strong enough to stand alone. Gust seem to be trying to make it a bit bigger in the mainstream RPG world these days, what with all the Atelier Iris games and all that jazz, and I presume this is just part of it.

I haven't watched the trailer, mainly because everything on the Ar Tonelico website ran incredibly slowly the last time I tried accessing it; maybe it's picked up by now. Game OVAs are usually naff (even Tales of Phantasia was, and I was massively looking forward to that) but it could be alright, I guess.

cool, thanks for the info. the trailer makes it seem like it covers a lot and hopefully there'll be more ovas instead of this single 25 min. ova. it does look like a ToP-WTF?-if i haven't played the game ova.
