Default Quad DVD cases from TDK

For those looking to squish thier collections even more:

http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/howToGetI...orylist.do#tabs

Quad DVD cases from TDK. I'm about to head out to my local CC to check them out. They do look like regular dvd size BUT it seems to be the overlapping veriety, like a lot of DVD sets I've seen: 2 discs on each side, one overlapping the other. Gonna use these puppies to replace the cases for Farscape starburst editions from Season's 3 and 4. They made these cases waaay too thick(an inch each)

I have ordered a few triple and quad slim cases (they are the same size as a regular dvd case) from AD before. The triple cases were a great addition because I could fit all of Masion Ikkoku into 8 spots . Too bad they don't carry them anymore but I guess I can understand why their quality aren't that good I had to fix a bunch of them cause the tabs for the flipper part broke off.

If you buy some of those TDK cases could you take a picture of the hubs they used?

So long as they don't use the Scanavo style hub.

One day I may just break down and quit with cases entirely. I could fit 10 series or more into a typical 2 row cd binder.

For those that just want cheap cases and don't care about style or condition, I have heard that Blockbuster will occasionally throw away boxes of cases and will give them to you for the asking. Never actually tried this myself, so I don't how true this is.

I don't think they do that anymore. They used to do it because they would transfer the discs from the studio cases to their own crap-lock cases, leaving them with a ton of studio cases to throw away. But, I think they've upgraded from crap-lock to decent-lock and have got their distributor to ship in the decent-lock cases to begin with.

I thought about that too but I don't think I can do it because I'd want to keep the covers. I still kind of cringe when I throw away most of the dvd cases because I paid for them with the disc. I guess I am a bit nuts .

I happen to agree with you—I don't cut my cover inserts, and I keep my DVDs in the same size cases that they came in (I transfer the DVDs in standard-sized cases to M-Locks, or Amaray I's if the case is not black, clear or white), even though it means that I have a couple dozen ALPHApak bricks :-P . OTOH, I recently bought a couple of Media Blasters three-disc brick collections, one of which is a Scanavo, and am sorely tempted to break my rule and buy a few of the three-hub M-Lock bricks <drool>—if American-Digital ever gets the clear M-Lock singles back in stock so I can make the minimum purchase.

But if you look at my collection link (which is badly out of date—add at least three more shelf units to those images for a better estimate of the total), you'll see that I'm more than a bit nuts.

Default Think I got lucky

I just won 50 new clear slim double dvd cases off eBay for $18.99 shipped. $0.38 each, which I think is a bit better than normal. 50 should be all I need for the forseeable future. Yay.

They're stackers. (ala Halo 2 tin and GitS: 2nd Gig SE). 2 discs on each side of a 2 sided case.
