I don't think we've done a total count poll in awhile, so how many volumes of manga do you own? How many series are represented?
And just to add an extra element, how do your organize it all? Do you put all your manga together or sort it into genres or by some other system? For myself, I have 223 volumes which is comprised of about 42 series + one shots. I have mine broken into three groups: in progress stuff, completed series, and yaoi/shonen-ai, and alphabetized from there. |

Well, my 'to sort' secion has over 300 volumes. And that's from about 4 months of buying. And with the number of one-shot yaoi manga that I have, I think it's safe to say I have over 300 series represented also.

Wow, the number shocked me when I added it all up. I have about 645 manga representing 118 series and one-shots. That doesn't include whatever my bro took (which I think is only GTO and Love Hina) and the stuff I'm getting rid of.
Domestic releases are on one bookshelf and imports are on the other. They're arranged by publisher, then magazine, then author, then chronologically by title.

I have well over 2500 volumes of manga, and I keep them organized by author's last name in kana alphabetical order, because otherwise I would never remember it.

177 volumes across 31 series. I don't have any order really other than the order they were bought in with all volumes in a certain series beside each other.

I've got about 300 books split up into 91 series, plus about 35-ish collections of one-shots. I have my books organized first by size, then by publisher, then alphabetically by the author's name.

I try to keep things organized by series, but it gets hard sometimes, because there are just too many books.

A wee bit over 300 volumes - it was 314 at the last count, about a month ago, and I've bought stuff since then. I'm not sure how many different series there are there, but probably less than 50.
As for organisation, other than making sure the stuff I regularly want to check stuff in or reread is easily accessable I don't have to room to have the luxury to have any kind of organisation - I just stick stuff where there is room for it

I haven't counted it in a while, but I'd estimate we have 750+ volumes total.
All the manga is in our library. This room contains 7 floor-ceiling bookcases and each shelf is absolutely packed with manga and various merchandise (gashapon toys mostly). A couple of shelves are reserved for art books, JP game guides and hentai porn (including doujin). We used to store our anime there as well (~500 DVDs) but it no longer fits and has been moved to another room. I have tried to sort the manga roughly into genre (Shonen, Shoujo etc) but with so many books and diminishing shelf space things get mixed up easily. I'm pretty good at segregating dropped series and single volumes, which always end up on bottom shelves Edit: Out of interest I started counting our manga yesterday. And stopped at 1100. There were several shelves left. Yikes! robert

The short answer is too many, and however I can fit them places.
I have nearly 800 volumes (796 or something) -- gah why did you make me count?! -- representing well over 100 series (but didn't count those exactly) and at one time not too long ago I had them generally organized alphabetically by title on separate bookshelves by their status as: finished, in progress, yaoi, Japanese, size (for the older big or special titles), and The Backlog (bum bum bumm). To be honest though, that organization system has largely become obsolete as I long ago ran out of room on the respective shelves and have re-arranged in attempt to make more room (ultimately futile). There are piles of manga everywhere around my house right now... I need some new bookcases (or a bigger place...). Naturally I didn't count my doujin collection, artbooks or various manga magazines (they take up several more shelves), or the books I've read and got rid of to make more room.
