What do you guys think that the chances for a thinpak of these two volume for Nurse Witch Komugi-chan will be. Vol. 2 was last released back in Sept 28, 2004

No chance. ADV might do to NWK what they did to the original Nuku Nuku OVA and quite possibly put all 6 episodes on one disc, but I don't see the necessity of a thinpack.

New Fist of the North Star was 3 episodes on 3 discs. It got re-released on a single disc in a regular case, stripped of extras. Devil Hunter Yohko was 5 episodes on 3 discs (plus a bonus disc) in double-disc cases. It got re-released in a thinpack set using the same discs. Samurai X Director's Cut was 2 movies, together equivalent to 6 episodes in length, on 2 discs. It got re-released in a 2-disc thinpack set, but the extra features were removed.

Trust&Betrayal (4 episodes) and Reflections (2 episodes) [/ QUOTE ] Sure you're not thinking of the first collection? The three-disc Samurai X set has the six separate OVA episodes remastered with 5.1 English audio and corrected the hardsub and missing-text issue from the initial release. The Director's Cut versions of those episodes had the content run together with no openings and endings between them (with some new animation), making them feature-length movies. The point of the example was that here's a re-release of a story that was originally 6 episodes in length, with the closest comparable separate release version being on two discs. ADV's stripped thinpack version is still on two discs, rather than collecting the ~3 hour total runtime onto a single volume, as they've done with shows like Nuku Nuku and New Fist of the North Star. I could have instead used the example of the Original Dirty Pair release, for which the 10 OVA episodes were originally on 2 discs (and got a 2-disc thinpack), while the 3 movies were originally on 3 discs, yet got a 3-disc thinpack despite their relatively short runtime. Since the 50-minute movies were re-authored anyway, why not put them on the same disc, or put all three together on one 180-minute volume? Even the Gantz and Slayers thinpacks are nonsensical. ADV used the same discs from the singles, but the discs themselves have an hour or less of content each. If ADV is so eager to re-author everything that gets a collection in order to remove bonus features from discs that were nearly bare-bones to begin with (like Mezzo and Kino's Journey), then why not also re-author discs to consolidate the content itself on those rare shows that aren't being stripped, like Rune Soldier? Anyway, given ADV's trend of late I'd expect that, if Komugi were to get a collection, it would be a 2-disc stripped thinpack, rather than a 1-disc consolidated release or a 2-disc collection of the original volumes. Then again, I'm also reminded that ADV did release a collection of Makoto Shinkai's two films, with a soundtrack and a printed extra, all in keepcases with a slipcover and at the same price point as the stripped-down Samurai X thinpack. So it really could be completely up in the air.
