Happy Nadia's Birthday!

May 31, 1875 is Nadia's birthday! In celebration, I'd like to marathon the whole series, but I'm on the road and not near my DVDs. (And for the record, I have both the Japanese box set and all the ADV singles, including the movie.)

So instead, in celebration of Nadia's birthday, my favorite Nadia moment: Jean and Nadia's second kiss. ^^;

Anyone else have a favorite Nadia moment?

I just watched the movie last night, and I was surprised that they mentioned it, what with the timeliness and that it had completely slipped my mind.

My favorite moment is early in the series when Nadia and Jean get thrown into the ocean and are about to drown--the look they give each other in that moment gets me every time.

Oh man, I love the Nadia series, even those goofy island fill-in episodes they did. Nadia has those moments where you just want to slap her from time to time, but she's a great character (and I believe still the only African/black character to be the star of their own anime).
If I didn't have so much other backlog right now, I'd marathon it too. I'm a sucker for happy endings, so my favorite 'moment' would be the epilogue where we see what became of everybody. <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'> Nadia's attempt at cooking for Jean and their kids is priceless. I even think the fact that Sanson ended up with Marie and that she's very pregnant looking is really sweet. [img]/images/graemlins/catgirl0.gif[/img] </span>

My favorite moments are of Grandis reminiscing about her past. &lt;3 I love her.

I also love the epilogue scene in episode 39.

And King Vs. King. &lt;3

I think I'll start marathoning it again this week.

Its not the island stories (apart from Jean's fantasy dream stage show which was too long), but the crap animation that was used.

Favourite moment? When Nadia <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>had been abducted by one of the spaceships, &amp; Jean went to try &amp; rescue her. She walked back to him through a wall &amp; it showed they really cared for each other. </span>

Saddest Nadia moment is in the submarine when Nemo <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>seals off a section filling with poison gas, &amp; Jean's engineer friend is trapped &amp; dies. </span>


I'm sure Grandis, Samson &amp; Hanson are influenced to some degree by Cruella de Vil, Horace &amp; Jaspar Baddun from 101 Dalmations.

Just finished the first box (episode 20), and am looking forward to carrying on with it so I'm avoiding the spoiler tags for now. (thanks for putting them up, I'd be distraught otherwise!)

I wish there was more Nadia in Nadia. The series is as much about the effect she has on people, as about her as a person.

Another, equally favourite moment is when Nadia is <span style='color:#dddddd;background:#dddddd'>flying in Jean's biplane. They fly near a cloud &amp; Nadia innocently reaches out to try &amp; grab some, with an expression of wonder.</span> That was when I got hooked on the series.

After Nadia, my favourite female is Electra. Kikuno Inoue voice acting good in a really serious role.
