Default Best and Worst Recap Episodes

I just finished watching Samurai Champloo's recap episode and was surprised that I liked it. Usually I don't like recap episodes and skip them but I think that I might actually have enjoyed this one enough that I would watch it again. It was fun to watch Jin and Mugan read Fu's diary and their comments on her perspective of what had happened so far. In contrast I hated Wolf Rain's recap episode. On paper it probably look like a good idea to show the past in each pack members perspective but in practice it was just boring.

I can't pick a worst really, because it would just be "any show that didn't even attempt to make the recap interesting". Shows like Champloo and Nadesico, however, really did try to make the recap more than just stupid nonsense, so they get points for that.

Best - Utena

Worst - Kaleido Star. I had to skip this one. I didn't want to see such a wonderful first season recapped (and for two episodes, no less).

I definitely thought the Champloo, Fuu's diary recap episode was the best one I'd seen.

Worst ever: Wolf's Rain. Theres not just one, or two, or three, but FOUR recap episodes. And they are all one right after the other. And they don't add any new information or use any new animation. Only positive thing about it is I was able to avoid an entire DVD when buying the series.

Best (Or, a good one I've seen recently and can remember): Twelve Kingdoms. They do kinda a recap ep at the end of each arc. Adds new information and only 3/4 of the ep is used for recapping.

I was so angry when I got this disk. Now wheneever I watch the series I just skip that whole disk.

In general I don't like recap episodes, I usually do series marathons so no need to recap what I just watched. Can't say I have enjoyed any recap.
