Default Elemental Gelade, a very, very good Vancouver dub.

Just finished volume 1, much, MUCH more entertaining than the Japanese version.

I have no idea who played whom, but everyone was perfect.

Props especially to whoever played Cisqua and Kuea

The main cast list:

Alexandra Carter as Cisqua

Brenna O'Brien as Reverie 'Ren' Metherlence

France Perras as Kuea

Kristian Ayre as Coud 'Cou' Van Giruet

Philip Pacaud as Rowen

It is a good dub I have to say, the ocean studios acctually is doing rather well here and staying far away from things like J to X. Kristian Ayre does play a good Cou, I couldn't bare to listen to the sub version. The first scene with Cou (subbed). Ugh!!! I immediately turned it to english. As for everyone else, Brenna O'Brien playing Ren, ooo! I love her!!!! Alexandra Carter playing Cisqua, probably the most notable one here since she is the most enthusiastic of the bunch. As for Rowen (Philip Pacaud) and Kuea (France Perras). There good, nothing to good banana's about but decent none the less imo.

If this is what Ocean Studios is going to be like the rest of the way, then I'm even more excited for Ocean doing Shana.

I'm probably defensive here, so excuse me. But you make it sound like Ocean's not been around for too long and that they've not had quality work before. The problem may be by your reference to Saber Marionette J to X that you're confusing Ocean proper in Vancouver, the studio for EG, for their Blue Water studio in Calgary, who did J to X. Two entirely different talent bases, histories and expectations. BW's only been around for six years, Ocean in Vancouver has been dubbing for 13 and has a fine history, by many opinions. (But based on comments lately, Blue Water seems to be advancing quickly in quality as well.)

Regardless, it's nice to see an Ocean thread today. Especially since I want to start one up for the last box of Maison Ikkoku tonight, finally and for many unexpectedly finishing up its ten-year history.

My bad, , I accidently got the two studio's confused. I thought that "Blue Water" and "Ocean Studios" were one in the same. Sorry for the mishap. Better do more research on these things.

It's all under the "Ocean Group" umbrella so it's easy to confuse em', especially if crediting is not distinct. Monster Island (Austin) used to be confused with ADV Studios (Houston) when ADV used them. And of course all the studios in LA don't make things easy sometimes.

Can't say I'm familiar with all those names, but there seems to be a few new voices. Kristian Ayre caught my attention when I clicked on his name. Crystal Acids only has one other role for him-- from over 10 years ago. The clips sound good though, too bad the show itself sounds so mediocre.
