Hi,
I just got this email from the Japan Foundation, which is the organization that does the Japanese Language Proficiency Test every year. I took this test a long time ago, and I think it's been helping my resume a little... Now I'm one of the proctors for the Los Angeles site. It's a great way to test your Japanese skills and I highly recommend it!! **Copied Message START!** The registration period for the 2006 Japanese Language Proficiency Test is here! This year the test will take place on December 3rd at 8 test sites around the US: Atlanta, Chicago, Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington D.C. The registration period will remain open until October 6th at 5:00 PM (PDT). Registration is simple, quick, and secure with our ‘My Account’ online registration system. We hope that you will join us again this year in this challenge. To find out more about registering for the 2006 JLPT or to access the ‘My Account’ system, visit http://www.jflalc.org/index.php?act=tpt&id=23. |

If I can find a teacher here in Canada, I'll try to go for 2-kyuu. Passed 3-kyuu last year.

Thanks for the link. While my school (University of Michigan) doesn't seem to care about this test enough to mention it to us Japanese language students, I've been hearing about it a lot on the AOD Japanese Language & Culture forum enough that it had piqued my interest, but I hadn't gone so far as to see where and when I could take the test. But I think now I will be signing up to take the lowest level test this winter.

People keep telling me to try the 2-kyuu but I never did the test before so I might start with level 3. If I end up doing it that is.
