Default Kiddy Grade?

Any thoughts/comments on this series? Anything you can compare it to?

I liked it. I heard someone once describe the story on here as very cliched and I tend to agree. Almost any cliche you can think of in an anime tends to be found in Kiddy Grade.

I think it's art is it's most outstanding aspect to the series. The story is good full of twists and mysteries. The story starts off slow but really hits you with a bang and doesn't really stop till the end. I really can't think of an anime that really compares to it, however if you have seen any anime series done by Gonzo, enjoyed them, and you have any remote interest in Kiddy Grade, I would say go for it.

I think the show is a lot of fun, but the story feels uneven. The first 9 episodes are episodic, and introduce the other ES members and the basic plot. These episodes are just "ok." Afterwards, the show makes a lot of twists and it's pretty exciting up till the very end. Even as nonsensical as some aspects were, I thought that Kiddy Grade's story was a rather interesting one.

Eclair and Lumiere are likeable leads, but the other ES members don't recieve enough character development. Sure, they're cool and they've got lots of really cool super powers but I feel the show barely scratches the surface of who they are.

One of the best parts about the show is the animation. Kiddy Grade is a feast for the eyes. The character designs and outfits are absolutely gorgeous. There is some action in each episode and it looks pretty good. This is definitely one of the best animated TV series I have seen and one of Gonzo's better looking titles.

Kiddy Grade is far from perfect, yet despite its faults, it entertains. Even if some plot aspects get you rolling your eyes, you can still enjoy the characters and the great visuals. I'd give it my recommendation.

I like it, but I cannot think of anything that is similar.
Kiddy Grade has a lot of action and drama with enough comedy mixed in to keep it from getting too serious for my taste. Oh, and a lot of fanservice too.
As I just said in another thread, this had a feel-good ending for me.
I thought it was a good science fiction show with a lot of space opera elements, especially near the end.

While I completely disagree with this as it pertains to Kiddy Grade, it might be the most entertaining post I've seen this month.

I've only seen the beginning of it (have the box set in my backlog), but I like what I've seen. Well enough to pick up that box set (wanted the old art box but didn't have luck picking it up, so just opted for the box set). And, with that box set now out - it's not as "pocketbook-wrenching" as it could be. ^_^;

In some ways, it's a show that can be traced back to the Dirty Pair, as it is about pair of female agents who work for a galactic law enforcement agency, but instead of "girls with guns," we get girls with special powers.

That's just a starting point, as we slowly get to learn more about the background of one of the girls, Eclair, which leads into a sinister and shadowy plot that runs all the way to the end.

I enjoyed the show, and the animation is very good.

The only warning I would have is that [and don't read all of this spoiler unless you want to be seriously spoiled] the ending seems like one of those rushed endings, where they realized that they had to come up with an ending, but did not have enough episodes at the end of the series to do something other than slap together some major crisis that our heroes have to overcome.

Not sure what I can compare it to (if only Gemini Knives were an anime), but I recommend it verrrrrry highly. It has a reputation for being all style, no substance, and I heard that so much that I started to believe it, but after I got the DVDs and rewatched the whole series, I didn't agree anymore.

It's a great show, and I actually rather like the story. Eclaire is also one of my favorite characters. And Lumiere is a young Hirano Aya =D
