Interesting. As much as I love Firefly, and as much as I love MMO's..... How the hell would this work?

I mean, Star Wars and Star Wars Galaxies immediately popped into mind with this - bigger franchise (by far), and yet the MMO sucked (in my opinion at least). WoW sure did a good job of taking from being the "hero" in WC3 to "serving the "hero" in WoW. But at least it came from a game.

I don't know. Maybe it would work, but it just doesn't lend itself to it in my mind. A good TV series and/or movie does not equate a good MMO will spring forth ><

So why the crap would the network that cancelled Firefly want to finance a game based on it?

It could follow in a similar manner to EVE Online, only with actual ground based combat too.

At these big megacorporations, different divisions really operate as separate companies, sometimes even competing with each other. Most times, one division doesn't even know what the other is doing. The Fox gaming division is probably acting independently of the TV division. Just a theory...

That would be nice, but don't hold your breath. After the Firefly movie didn't do as well as they liked, Joss Whedon announced that he was throwing in the towel as far as the Firefly show was concerned. Now, if someone threw a bunch of money at him to continue, I am sure he would reconsider, but I don't think thats going to happen.
