Default Actors turned directors

There are a lot of VAs who have become ADR Directors as well. Some of the better known are Michael Sinterniklaas, Sean Schemmel, Laura Bailey, Colleen Clinkenbeard, John Swasey, Tony Oliver, Wendee Lee, Bridget Hoffman, Patrick Seitz, Liam O'Brien, and Sam Regal. That's not all of them by a long shot. Then there are those that are just getting started as directors, like Stephanie Sheh, Chritine Auten and Caitlin Glass (what she's directing, I don't know, but she's announced she's finished casting the show, and is hoping she can reveal what show it is soon.)

Are there any in particular that you like? Are there VAs you'd like to see get a chance to direct?

I'd love to see Monica Rial get a chance to direct. I bet that would be some fun recording sessions. I also think I'd like to see Chris Patton get a chance, too.

Patrick Seitz. Girls Bravo was one of the funniest dubs ever. And currently he's doing a great job with Kamichu.

Colleen Clinkenbeard. Excellent work on FMA (with Mike McFarland) and MoonPhase :neko:

As for who I'd like to see, I'll have to think on that one some more.

You forgot Michael Sorich and Jeff Nimoy who are also actor/directors. Glass did ADR work on Negima, but it was just assistant work.

I don't think he meant for us to list everybody who's ever been on both sides of the glass.

Lia Sargent and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn have both directed several great dubs. Not so much lately (I believe McGlynn has been on Naruto, which I've been followed), but I'm hoping there will be some more. Oh, and Justin Cook, too (whose work on Yu Yu Hakusho and Fruits Basket is memorable)

I'll watch any show that has Mike McFarland's name under it as director. Also I've noticed an interesting up-and-coming director for FUNi - Tyler Walker. His dub for Basilisk felt a bit shakey at first, containing lots of new actors/actresses and some castings that completely break past type-castings (Mark Stoddard as Tenzen), but it's grown into something quite good. And with this first experience, the Black Cat dub is bound to be even better.

Also I'd like to see Justin direct more. He kinda dissappeared back into just acting after Hakusho. >>

I know..I miss Justin. Ever since Kiddy Grade, where he left at episode 16 from the directing chair, Justin has been producing all the FUNimation titles with Carly Hunter. I think he's just too busy with that to direct any more. I love his directing of Frubs, YYH, and Kiddy Grade, but hes now a producer! GO JUSTIN!

Well, I know that Jessica Boone is studying directing at the University of Houston (along with her theatrical studies), so I would love to see her get the opportunity to direct someday.
