I've never stopped playing Diablo 2 since it came out. I love it. I was, however, quickly swayed to Titan Quest when I heard about it. It is, for the most part, a Diablo 2 clone. It even has the same interface. It is, in my opinion, a huge improvement over Diablo 2. For one thing there are no pre-made class to pick from. Instead you have "Masteries". When you hit 2nd level you pick your first mastery which are similar the skill trees in Diablo 2. At level 8 you get to pick a second one with no restrictions. You want a melee skill tree and a caster skill tree? No problem. It makes for a wide varaiety of skill combinations.
Another improvement (and I love this one) is that you can respec your skills if you don't like them. You can never change your masteries once you've picked them but you can rearrage your skill points if you don't like the skills you've picked. (for a price of course). It's also a huge graphical improvement over Diablo and it's in an ancient Greek setting which I'm a huge fan of. So I thought I'd pass this gem on to other people. I only found out about it myself cause I just happened to see it on the shelf at Best Buy and when I saw it was an action game set in ancient Greece I picked it up. There's also and expansion on the way next month that will add another mastery to the game, another chapter, and tons of new items. So has anyone else out there played this yet? What did you think? And if anyone picks it up on my recomendation let me know what you think. |

Titan Quest was a great game, but I think it turned a lot of people off at the time because of its high system requirements. Hell, I have a pretty hefty computer and some levels still lag pretty bad.

I found it got to the point where it was simply repetitive and not exciting. Silverfall might be the one to do it for me though (comes out next month.) Anyway, I still think the best CRPG is Divine Divinity, despite the ridiculous name.

I've always played Diablo 2 off and on since it came out. I never joined any clans and got tired of doing the same Baal/Mephisto runs for items. I heard about Titan Quest but never tried it out until Best Buy sold it for $25. I built 2 characters and beat normal with each. I thought it was alright. With the lack of feeling of my character being uber powerful and not a big on-line community, I just stuck it into my game drawer and went on to other games.
