Just got delivery of my new 61" Samsung LED DLP 1080P tv a couple of weeks ago and it's very, very impressive. Especially the HD channels and letterboxed movies. The "Incredibles" looked pretty darn impressive a couple of nights ago!

If the price isn't too great a difference, get the LED model rather than the standard bulb model. It's rated at 20,000 hrs minimum versus about 4,000 for the bulb, plus there's no colour wheel to go wrong. Otherwise, the two models are identical.

But pass on the matching stand. It was a nightmare to assemble (24 bolts in six sizes, cam locks that you have no idea how to lock and one jamned bolt) and only after I assembled it, did I discover that a normal size receiver won't fit on the top shelf because there's a support strut underneath with protruding nuts. Argh......

Do yourself a favour and get a generic stand. It's definitely not worth the $399 it cost!

My setup currently is:

Sony 46" KDL-46XBR2 LCDTV
Onkyo TX-701SR THX Receiver
Bose Acousticmass 5 5.1 speakers
PS3 as BD Player via HDMI at 1080p
XBOX360 as HDDVD player via Component at 1080i
PC via VGA at 1280x768 resolution (720p when watching videos)

I may either get a new HDDVD player, or just wait a bit, build a new PC with an HDCP card, and use the XBOX's HD DVD add on with Nero. Hopefully this setup will work well for years to come, till I can get my paws on some new Aperion speakers and when Plasmas @ 1080p become cheaper.

My latest setup:

-Marantz VP-12S4 projector, homemade ~96" screen
-Denon AVR-988 (same as 2808ci) - Pioneer Elite 91 moved to another room
-Emotiva LPA-1
-DVDO Edge (VP50 sold)
-PS3
-Oppo 970
-Motorola DCT6200 (HD cable)
-DIY 3-way tower mains, Onix 100 center, 1s and 0.5s not currently hooked up.
-Some Cambridge Soundworks speakers I got for free for surrounds 'til I get around to putting the Onix 1s up
-Dayton Quatro 15" subwoofer (sealed) + O-audio 500W BASH amp
-Behringer DCX2496, DEQ2496
-Sennheiser HD555s for night listening

Receiver stays in DPLII music mode all the time. Anyone who changes it gets stabbed.

Ill bite and finally post in this thread.

TV - LG 32LC56 32" 720P HDTV
DVD/Blu-ray - Playstation 3 connected via HDMI (for the upscaling of DVDs)
HD-DVD - Xbox 360 with HD DVD Player add on connected via VGA (also upscales DVDs, but i prefer the PS3 remote, especially when it comes to DVDs)

No, we don't have a surround sound set up. Would love to have one, but it would be hard to set up in the living room.

I have a new addition to my setup! :D :D :D :D
Benq 24'' !!!

Setup:
Benq FP241W
PC via DVI-D
PS3 via HDMI for video, and standard a/v for audio.
HD580 w/Gilmore V1 Amp
Dreamcast via VGA (have not tested)
PSP via Component (need to buy)
GCN via Component (have not tested)

Only hooked everything up minutes ago, but 1080p bliss is awesome. Just a little too bright. Need to get Avia back from a friend. In any case, thats my setup. I asked about switches before, and I just went ahead a little above my budget and got this. Hope it gives me many years of good use. God need to get some Blu-Rays now.

So happy hyper now! :D :D :D
