In Summary:
Rumbling Hearts really hit a chord with me, and so I really enjoyed the first volume. It presents its relationships in a very realistic way and has the characters reacting in such a manner. The story is just there to dump more weight on the characters and essentially push them to their limits, but it’s great to be able to form your own opinion about things without having one side forced down your throat more than others. The animation is pretty nice as well, making everything easy on the eye and the music, while nothing spectacular, is at least fitting. Overall I’m glad Revelation took a chance on this series and I hope it does well. It’s good value and if you like a bit of angst and drama, chances are you’ll love this show.

I dont think I really need to say that this caught me by surprise. As i said in the other RH thread, I only got it just to see if i like it, I wasnt really expecting to. But i did. I loved it.

If the rest of the show is as good as the first volume, then i think i have a new show in my top 5 :D

The dub was also great, probably FUNimation's best one so far.

I have to agree, the dub was very good for me. Occasionally the voices sounded a little old (not really anyone's fault), but the emotions of the characters were captured really well in the performances.

Although occasionally in the past FUNi dubs have left me frustrated as they (IMO) were a bit liberal in some spots, I think they've definitely improved in this aspect (whether consciously or not) and I look forward to a lot of their dubs now.

As I wrote in the other RH thread, good review!

RH has had 3 different release reviews (R2J, R1, R2E) - all interesting reading.

Its hard remembering when discussing just what's happened to the end of a particular volume, to put the brakes on sometimes & not over-run until the next! Enough to say vol.1 ends at a good story point IMO.

This is a show that would do well selling as a set eventually, & I might re-think & buy a UK release then.

Glad the UK gets reverse covers.

I think the "slightly too old" sounded thing is just one of them things that happens when you have someone trying to do a voice for someone in two ages.

I did notice some rather subtle differences in the voices from the high school sections and the post time skip sections.

I think they have improved on that a lot recently, from what recent shows ive seen.
