Default Spriggan SE vs RE ?

I didn't know that there was a SE for Spriggan what's the difference or the extra to it over the previous release ?

Also, I recall reading that Voices of a Distant Star had some issues, what were they ? and are the current DVDs fixed ?

Many thanks in advance

As I recall, the SE came with a soundtrack CD. I remember looking when it came out and deciding it wasn't worth double-dipping for. If you don't have any copy, go for it. Otherwise take whatever you get the best price on. If you are looking at Rightstuf, you can buy the CD and RE cheaper then just getting the SE. If you don't care about the CD, just the RE is $7.99.

The regular edition has dual 5.1 audio and a commentary by Matt Greenfield. ADV mistakingly used the credit scroll from the English theatrical version, so there is no Japanese voice cast. The special edition has that as well, along with another disc (possibly a flipper) that has English DTS and another commentary featuring Chris Patton (English voice of Yu) and the aforementioned CD. The SE corrects the credit error and reflects the Japanese voice actors.

Yes, VoaDS had an audio error... the alternate Japanese audio track (the one featuring Makoto and his wife) was just a duplicate of the regular Japanese audio (the one with professional VA's). This error was fixed awhile ago and should not be present on new copies. If you want to be on the safe side you can grab to Shinkai Collection (which collects Voices and Place Promised). That would definitely give you an error-free copy of Voices.

I believe the new version is anamorphic.
