Default 11th Osamu Tezuka Award nominees

ComiPress lists the nominees for the 11th Osamu Tezuka Culture Award:

Quote:
Ooku by Fumi Yoshinaga [Hakusensha]
Osaka Hamlet by Hiromi Morishita [Futabasha]
Koukoku no Shugosha (Imperial Guards) by Story: Daisuke Sato; Art: Yu Ito [Shueisha]
Danchi Tomoo by Tobira Oda [Shogakukan]
Death Note by Story: Tsugumi Ohba; Art: Takeshi Obata [Shueisha]
Hyouge-mono by Yoshihiro Yamada [Kodansha]
Maihime Terepushikoora by Ryoko Yamagishi [Media Factory]
Moyashimon (Tales of Agriculture) by Masayuki Ishikawa [Kodansha]
It looks like Fumi Yoshinaga is getting recognized both in the U.S. and Japan this year, with nominations for an Eisner Award and now this.

I've heard good things about Hyougemono and Danchi Tomoo.

Ooku would be a great choice. I've never heard about the others though, so I couldn't say if it's better than those or not.

The premise sounds really interesting. A manga about a matriarchal society. Hmm.

Maihime is about a ballet dancer.

Koukoku no Shugosha looks good. Battles, dragons, and tigers, oh my! :D
