Default Zatch Bell recommendations

I was on the internet today and I finally decided to try out Zatch Bell, so I've watched the first 3 episodes of the dub and I actually like it. I know that it is slightly edited, like there being no naked Zatch, the guns are made into water guns, and punches aren't always shown, but i don't mind little stuff like that. I don't even mind that the dvds have no Japanese language track. What I was wondering is if any episodes are fused together and if Viz plans on completing the series. If no episodes are fused together and if Viz plans on competing the series, I might buy the dvds. So it would help my decision if people could answer some of these questions and perhaps recommend the anime for me, and if not the anime, perhaps the manga would be a better route. I don't know, which is why I am asking.

Patience, grasshopper.

The Cdn YTV cable channel has been showing this here (dubbed & possibly edited) on Friday nights since last year so I've probably seen 40 plus episodes by now. And for a kid's show, I'm pretty impressed.

While it started out a bit weak, and some episodes have been a bit silly, overall, it's not too bad at all. It appears to be coming to a climax and the episodes are getting quite serious and dramatic now. Not quite up to Naruto standards, but better than some of the weaker Dragonball Z arcs.

I have no desire to purchase it, but it's good enough that I've set up my vcr to record it on a permanent basis so that I don't miss any episodes when I'm away.

I have no idea what Viz's plans are. I'm still wondering what happend to the movie. And to the TV broadcast of the series which stopped in the middle of a major battle.

As far as the series is concerned, its a quirky fun little show with lots of strange characters, an offbeat sense of humor and a very heartfelt core. Its actually pretty entertaining though the blunt editing called much too much attention to itself. If the DVD release never goes past the point where the US cable broadcast stopped, however, I'm not sure it would be worth picking up anything after the first season.

Just out of curiosity, at what point did the american broadcast stop? As I've said, I've watched 40+ episodes now on YTV and it does appear to be coming to a climax or so it appears.

I think it stopped on or about episode 80.

The Cartoon Network broadcast? I'm not certain. It seems like its been gone a long time now but then again One Piece went on a very long break and returned. Your guess is as good as mine.

Well, I'm now up to episode 15 of the dub, and I love the storyline...so do you think I'd be better off with the dvds or the manga????
