Default Question about Dark Horse's Shirow manga releases

I've checked a number of websites looking to grab some of Masamune Shirow's other manga (besides GitS). The problem is it looks like Dark Horse is putting out new editions and the sites have them up for pre-order, but the dates are in May and June of 07. Does anyone have any information on these and when they're actually coming out?

Dark Horse recently said that they are still intent on putting them out, but production delays have forced them to take them off the schedule until such a time when they know a definitive release date.

Which is now becoming the standard pattern for Dark Horse. OMG might be the only title that is even close to being on schedule for them.

Actually it's the other way around: OMG is their only other title that's still a bit off schedule. Everything else runs more or less smoothly these days. The only stuff with massive problems is Akira Club, all the Shirow stuff and of course OMG Colors.

Yeah, my most recent e-mail from Rightstuf listed all the Shirow titles (the Appleseed and Dominion Tank Police) with that dreaded 12/12/12 date.

And that is exactly why I haven't sold off my original edition copies yet. I love the titles that Dark Horse licenses (other than the samurai stuff). I love the production quality of their releases. But I hate their wonky release schedules.

You'd think since this is a company that has been putting out pamphlet comics for ages that this wouldn't be such a problem for them. Other companies that have literally built themselves up out of nothing over the last year or two are more consistent at hitting solicitation dates than DH.

Same here. I eagerly await their mature titles, specifically ghost talker's Daydream and I would like to get the new compilations as I really don't like searching through comic book boxes for my DH titles. I have gotten a little spoiled and have gotten used to reading one GN rather than a stack of comics.

This has always puzzled me. I'm not interested in DH's licensed properties so I've only had experience with their manga (and Studio Porteus and Frank Miller titles) so for me their schedules have always been odd.

Default Dark Horse Re-Releases of Shirow Masamune's Work

Hi All!

I was just wondering if anybody had any idea of what happened to Dark Horses planned re-release of Shirow Masamune's works such as Appleseed and Black Magic etc... All details of the new releases were removed from their site and Amazon.co.uk no longer lists them as available to order.

I was personally really looking forward to being able to pick up all of his works in a right to left printed format as ive held off from all of Dark Horses other releases of his titles. Anyone with any info please help to shed some light on what happened :sigh:
