Volume 4 of this terrific series has a defect about midway through episode 18. The disc will lock-up most progressive scan DVD players. Looking over the disc carefully, there is a hole through the label near the Title. This problem existed on all three discs, in exactly the same location, that I exchanged with my local Anime store. This store also had 5 other defective discs, besides the 2 I returned to them. I e-mailed Manga Entertainment about the problem, but to date, there has been no response.

Hmmm. FWIW, my copy displayed no problems at all. Since my ancient player isn't progressive scan, however, that may be worth precisely nothing. :sweatdrop:

I just looked over my copy. I put it in front of a very bright light and I seem to have no hole. It is playing fine on my players.

Could everyone please list what players they're using? Saying "progressive players" isn't exactly very enlightening, nor does a player having a progressive output or not affect playback compatibility.

As I mentioned, my player's ancient, a Panasonic DVD-RV30.
