The Microwave Is A Time Machine! - Steins;Gate English Dub Cast

The microwave is a time machine, and we're bringing gel bananas to Otakon! If you have any idea what I'm talking about, then you're probably familiar with the psychologically thrilling, time/dimensional traveling series that is Steins;Gate!

We're going to be premiering the English dubbed episodes of Steins;Gate at Otakon, but first you're going to need to know who is in our English Cast for Steins;Gate.

If you've been paying attention to the Otakon guest announcements, then you know that J. Michael Tatum will be at the convention. Following the English Dub World Premiere on Saturday, July 28th at 8pm there will be a Q&A session with the cast. While we'll have other giveaway items at our booth, you're going to want to get there early and pick up one of these awesome Steins;Gate posters (see above) while supplies last. That way you'll be prepared for cast autographs!

My choices.

I guess this pretty much confirms it for a November release. I'm glad about that and curious about the cast, but I don't expect it will be anything compared to the Japanese version because of how dependent on the Japanese language so much of the best humor is, especially the "Engrish" parts.

I can see that room fill up very quickly even though its in a fairly large room (I remember how packed the room was when Funi debuted the Soul Eater dub and cast at NYAF a few years back and that room wasn't tiny either).

I can't wait to see the eng dub list or even a little trailer? I watched three of the episodes before it was licensed and took down from Crunchyroll. It was a pretty awesome show of what I saw.

Considering J. Michael Tatum and Brina Palencia are guests at Otakon, I get the feeling that they'll be playing the two leads.

Yes I cant wait to hear the cast? Now if only Funi could put a little poster in the artbox because GE does not make merchandise based on visual novels

Kurisu Makise - Monica Rial

Ruka Urushibara - Trina Nishimura
Feris Nyannyan - Carrie Savage
Suzuha Amane - Kira Vincent-Davis
Yūgo Tennōji - Robert Bruce Elliott

My first choice for Ruka Urushibara was Cherami Leigh, then Monica Rial, then Brina Palencia, but I had already used all of them, so I went with Trina Nishimura. Similarly, my first choice for Suzuha Amane was Carrie Savage, but I had already used her, so I went with Kira Vincent-Davis.

None of my choices matched, although some of them went to different characters. There are a lot of voice actors I don't know well enough (Jackie Ross, Tyson Rinehart, Lindsay Seidel, and Jessica Cavanagh) just from the leads, and Jackie Ross doesn't appear to have ever been in anything. That's a little worrisome. At least her tutturuu sounded alright, and that's one of the most important parts of her performance. No one from Houston in this dub, and Patrick Seitz is the only one who doesn't live right in town and only voice act for FUNimation. Well, they haven't revealed the VA for Feris for some reason. Still, neither of these elements exactly have me thrilled. I'm glad to be able to hear some of it already, though. And so as great as some of the VAs I know in this dub are, I realize just how much I love that Japanese cast. Sigh. They didn't include any of the parts that would be significantly worse when dubbed no matter what, but I know there will be plenty of those as well. Oh well, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they're doing the best job they possibly can, and I'll definitely watch the dub as soon as possible, from whatever they put online when they do, and then immediately when the sets arrive, which will be as early as they possibly can. But I'm afraid that this dub just never had a chance to match the Japanese version for me. I hope there are some pleasant surprises.

They do sound similar, but I don't think it's her.

I'm definitely buying this. There are lots of relatively new talents here, and Tatum is a great choice for Okabe. I'm not too familiar with Jackie Ross, Tyson Reinhard, or Jessica Cavanaugh, so I'll will be looking forward to hearing from them.
