Tekken is more the madden of fighting games. Tekken 6 looks just like a prettier 5.
Virtua Fighter hasn't changed up much in its 5 iterations. and KOF used to come out every year. Guilty Gear XX has been changed so many times Accent core is barely playable. Here's the latest. -Producer is Yoshinori Ono, who worked on SF Alpha, SF III, and oversaw Capcom Fighting Revolution -Ono wants it to be the "second coming" of SF II. Wants it to feel like "homecoming" for SF II fans. -Online play is planned with potential for microtransactions such as new characters and stages -The look is not really similiar to the teaser trailer. A "cartoon-shaded style that manages to evoke SF II reimagined in 3d" - runs in 60FPS - Gameplay sticking with 2D- Ono wants to "preserve the strategic nature of SF II" -camera doesn't budge - Trying to get "as many SFII characters in as possible" - Takes place as though SF III never happened -Controls are traditional- "in its current early state, the game feels remarkably close to Super SFII Turbo" - Game is more aggressive- more about attacking than defending. Many of the SF III and Alpha gameplay systems have been scrapped. - Producer says they haven't decided what platforms or even if there will be an arcade version. Version Shane played was running on a P.C - Ono suggests Capcom could make a PS2 or DS version if "they deem the market suitable" -Ono not enthusiastic about making it an exclusive- wants to get it out on as many platforms as possible and No talk of SF IV can be with out some wishlisting so here's Who I want to return: From Alpha: Adult Sakura Adult Karin Juli Juni Dan From SF II (besides the 4 confirmed) Sagat Vega Cammy Akuma From SF III Mokoto Yun Yang Alex Dudley Oro |

Well, I'm not a fan of fighting games since I suck at them. And I especially hate the games where you have to memorize combos.
But, SF is a very nice game for casual gamers (as such is the case with SOUL CALIBUR) and I grew up with the series. However even tough the game looks great, we better get use to the idea of it.... since we're going to see like 10 more different versions of IV, until we have kids (or those who do get adults) and then make a V and repeat the formula. |

Treating SFIV as if SFIII never happened, both in story and gameplay, is going to piss of a lot o fans, especially gameplay-wise.
This is starting to disappoint me a little, SFIII shouldn't be ditched completely. It was a great series of games.
