While I like wacky harem hijinks as much as the next guy, I also like a solid couple that has some screentime together. Obviously we're left hanging most of the time, so I split this into two sections:

[hide]Arcueid[/hide] and [hide]Shiki[/hide] from Tsukihime - [hide]A fun couple, Arc is the adventurous one. They fit together nicely and even sleep together before Arc sadly disapears[/hide]

[hide]Kosaka[/hide] and [hide]Saki[/hide] from Genshiken - [hide]Having sex while watching anime plus a nice scene later on in the series with her on his lap? Easy inclusion to the list[/hide]

[hide]Kei[/hide] and [hide]Mizuho[/hide] from Onegai Teacher - [hide]A fun couple, both fit together well. I don't know what it's but something instantly clicks when they're on screen as a couple together[/hide]

[hide]Tenchi[/hide] and [hide]Ryoko[/hide] from Tenchi Muyo - [hide]Yeah, I know it was really only strongly hinted at in Tenchi Forever, but I'm on the Tenchi x Ryoko side. I'd love to see her and Tenchi "lovey dovey"[/hide]

They are already lovers, not just courting. The teasing is "for next time". Stars definitely has that feeling, but in S big fight at the end where [hide]Michiru is gunned down, & then shot point blank - has very poignant flashback & imagery of each other in both girls' minds, & Haruka's expression & then suicide shows how intense a couple they are[/hide]. It was not until then in S they really came across as feeling people IMO.


Otherwise;

Kyosuke & Madoka in Kimagure Orange Road. I especially love how throughout the TV series Kyosuke slowly brings Madoka out of her self-isolation, by getting her involved in normal activities & mixing with nice people again.

Lafiel & Jinto in Crest & Banner/II/III of the Stars. So much in that relationship, from the brittle Crest Asuka-Shinji type relationship, to how much a semi-formal class-damned relationship can get so deep over a period of time, at the end of Banner II. So little physical interplay but mainly on feelings of increasing devotion & inter-dependency.

I think that's what I like about it--that their relationship has moved beyond any discomfort or uncertainty about each other. (Usagi is still way too unsure of Mamoru to play about like this.) Maybe it's what comes of being cousins. :>
