Default ROZEN MAIDEN - TRAUMEND?

I don't mean to beat the whole "Geneon is dead" horse, but when I ordered volume 1 of Rozen Maiden - Traumend (the last R1 disc) I noticed an interesting customer comment at Amazon.com:

While the distributor Geneon Entertainment is closing down, Bang!Zoom! Entertainment is still finishing up the dub which means that it will be distributed by someone at some point. So yes, the series will be fully available...it is just that no one can say exactly when.

I can't exactly support the validity of this statement (as optimistic as it sounds), so I was wondering if anyone else has heard/read anything more recent/concrete concerning the US release of the remaining 8 episodes of the second season of Rozen Maiden?

(Again, sorry if I ruffle any feathers for asking about a Geneon release--I actually started to really like the series, and am worried it's among the LEAST likely to be picked up again for an R1 distribution!)

i think it was mentioned that since Geneon had already paid out the contract to get some dubs finished for some series, the dubbing companies were under contractual obligation to finish wht they were paid for.

however, though this may bode well and make it look pleasing for someone else to pick up, by no means is it a GUARANTEE that this will get picked up by someone else and then get distributed.

Pretty much. Even if the work gets done, that absolutely does not imply they're being released in any form.

Everything you hear about the Geneon situation within the next couple of months is mere spectulation at this point, so unless we hear offical word as to the situation, we're all forced to play the waiting game as to the status of [color:brown]Rozen Maiden[/color] and the other Geneon titles. I know that Cristina Vee (the English VA for Kanaria) mentioned here that they were done with Vol. #2 of Traumend, but I don't know if they're done with the entire series at this time.

Yes, the dub is complete for Rozen Maiden and already paid for by Geneon, so whoever picks it up will not have to pay to have it dubbed. But right now, we don't know what will become of it since we have no official word on anything.

It's time to graduate from here. But there's still some business left.

Weren't we supposed to hear something at the end of December from Geneon or something? I don't remember clearly who or what, but I thought we were waiting for a scheduled announcement. I'd atleast like to know if Geneon is going the Kadokawa route...

There was never any firm statement that we'd hear anything by the end of December.

It's still early yet. But once we get to the end of the month, then I think the chances of an announcement of any sort will get less and less with each passing week. If there is no announcement this month at all, I take it as a bad sign for Geneon resurfacing any time soon.

No prob.

The sad fact is that much of the general public may not even notice what is going on. If you look at Geneon's website, it's sitting there like nothing has happened. Except when you look for new releases, nothing appears starting with Nov. 2007 onwards.

And their "store" is very amusing. It's a Geneon-branded dummy front for TRSI. It's separate from TRSI (I looked around, it only has Geneon titles, and the shopping cart is not connected in any way to my current TRSI cart which has several things sitting in it), but it's all run by them.

Well, who knows when, or if, we'll hear anything.

Well, thanks for the information...I guess we're all in the dark about Rozen Maiden - Traumend for the meantime.

I hate to admit it, but I've actually resorted to watching "fan-subs" of the remaining episodes online--which only makes me want them released on R1 DVD for purchase even worse!

(Not to mention the lonely gap in my series box-set doesn't ease the frustration either...)

Thanks yet again for the update everyone!
