Default Seven Seas and Delays

I was visiting a blog featured on the animeblogger rss feed and they brought up an interesting point. Where is Strawberry Panic Vol.1? No online retailers have it and it is unavailable for order. Not to mention delayed releases on titles like Kashimashi, Voiceful, First Love Sisters among others. It isn't just this batch of releases. I remember waiting two weeks after said release date for volume 3 of kashimashi and visited bookstores countless times to see if they had it. I eventually ordered from two local borders but also found a copy finally. I see He is My Master, Venus Versus Virus, last uniform, and TL being stocked. I'm just unsure what to make of this situation and sadly some fans of Strawberry Panic are releasing new scans this week due to the sad state of the release.

Strawberry Panic Vol. 1 was recalled the first week of December because we discovered that the manga had been bound incorrectly (our printer incorrectly bound the color pages at the wrong end of the book). We realize fans want this book, but we know you don't want a book with an obvious print defect either.

Corrected copies of Strawberry Panic Vol. 1 shipped from our printer on January 3rd (much later than we had been told), and it is now making its way to stores.

As for delays on other titles, this is something we're working to correct now that we are moving from Diamond to having our titles distributed through our new partner Tor/Macmillan, which is reputed to have the best distribution network in the publishing industry.

Ah, that explains why I haven't seen any Strawberry Panic in stores. Thanks for the heads-up.

Diamond updated their shipping list for this week and Strawberry Panic volume 1 is listed, so it looks if you buy your manga through the Direct Market (like I do) you will be able to get your hands on a copy tomorrow.

It is wonderful to see that Seven Seas has teamed up with Tor. Hopefully this will help their presence in bookstores, both in getting titles into the stores and just having the titles available for stores, much more than Diamond ever did. Diamond, for all their power in the direct market, never seemed able to handle to handle the bookstore market very well.

Here's hoping to see many more titles and possible promos with your partnership.

I hope the problems with the delays will be solved soon. I've been hunting around for Strawberry Panic # 1 and Kashimashi # 4.
I need my yuri!!!

No interest in the series or Seven Seas here, but I noticed a copy of Strawberry Panic 1 in the new arrivals section of an on-campus comic store yesterday, so it's out.

Neither of the two stores have Strawberry Panic vol.1 yet.

I saw it on the shelves here in Hawaii yesterday, so the Contiguous 48 should have it. (Hawaii usually gets it late or allocations after the West Coast.)
