The oversized banner ads for both Ep. 10s of DRUAGA and Blassreiter were very annoying. I managed to ignore them for much of the shows, but it was still unwarrented and detracted from the experience (especially for the latter, when the banner posted eyeroll-inducing messages corresponding to the opening). It's baffling as to why YouTube allowed Crunchyroll to handle the video posting/files (assumingly...) and I really do hope this is both a one-time thing and that proper, untouched videos replace the ones present (not to mention that the video quality looked worse than the previous ones). The experiment was running just fine until this occured...

I only managed to sit through the first two minutes of Druaga before I got totally fed up with the distracting banner ad. I ended up going to CR to catch the show there (no banner ad). After another minute, I just decided to download the higher quality version in exchange for a dollar donation. If this was CR's not-so-subtle intention with the banner ad on the Youtube transmission, then mission accomplished I guess.

Good News: Episode 10 is re-uploaded without the banner.

Bad News: Episode 11 is only five minutes and the full episode requires visiting Crunchy Roll....

Do they want the youtube version to fail? Can Chris give any idea how the BostTV version is for 10 and 11? Honestly I'm not sure if this is the fault of Gonzo, Crunchy Roll, Youtube or all three? All I know is this is silly.

Wow. Maybe the much more well known YouTube was getting all the views, and thus they felt the need to drive viewers to the potentially revenue-generating BOST and CR? Maybe YT gets a cut of the sales or something...

Either way, not cool on shutting out the YTers.

All I know is as one of those YTers this makes me quite bitter. I swear if they ask "Why did people switch to raws and fansubs?", I'm going to be forced to alternate between laughing and crying. What's it going to take to get them to put two and two together? It also doesn't help that I was liking both series. Granted I was enjoying Druaga way more than Blassreiter. However that's a given.

I'm... speechless. Well, I'm not, but it breaks all the forum rules.

All I can say is for those who refuse to support CR. (US only)

There is only one word that can sum this up: garbage.

I'd much rather go to a reputable site like BOST TV and pay for the episodes than go to them, who are rapidly going further down on my tolerance scale. Everything was just fine before this junk happened.

As for BT-DNA, I'll definently be looking into it if YouTube or GONZO (whoever is behind this, most likely the latter) are no longer having it for free there.

I found out quite early that Episode 11 on YouTube was only 5 minutes in length. When I clicked on it then, it was only showing 148 views. Noticed the 5 minute length and walked away to get the raw to watch from "elsewhere" via "other means". I'll be using the "other means" to get the Episode 12 raw to watch.

If Gonzo wanted to put ads to earn revenue at YouTube, they could have done it like a TV viewing - once before, once in the middle (as it has the mid-episode eyecatch), and once before the next episode preview. I suppose they love shooting themselves in the foot, I guess.

That would have been the best balance. In any case for whatever reason Blassreiter 11 is the full episode at youtube, but episode 10 still has the ad in the video.

The full copy of Druaga 11 is now on youtube.
The full copy of Druaga 12 is on youtube split into two parts. No complaints over that at all though since there is nothing else wrong. (This is actually nice because you can't actually accidentally spoil yourself.)

At least in the end, Gonzo handled it right.
