No one knows.

Maybe they're waiting for the arc it's on now to finish so that they can absolutely animate it all without worrying about Togashi leaving it unfinished. HxH is absolutely popular in Japan, so I think it's more of a "when" question instead of an "if" question.

TV, 3/31/2001. Final volume of the OVA (Greed Island Final, which is terrible) 8/18/2004.

I consider the HxH franchise dead as of the end of OVA 1. Greed Island was bleh, and what I skimmed of the manga after that was just insultingly bad.

Still, for those 70 or so episodes where it's good, it's really good.

The last OVA was from 2004-03-03 to 2004-08-18 name Hunter X Hunter: G I Final (OAV)
